Question about symptoms after embryo transfer

I am currently on day 7 in my 2 ww. This is my second IVF cycle. I had 8 eggs out of which 4 fertilized and were transferred.. (2) 8 cells, (1) 6 cell, and (1) 7 cell.  I initially had  bad cramping for the first 3-4 days after the transfer.  It has now lessened and not as consistent.  It almost feels like the start of my period, but very faint.  I also had very swollen breasts that were quite painful. They are still swollen, but the pain is not as severe.  I have also had lower back pain for the past few days.  I am wondering if this is normal?  A side effect of the progesterone/estrace or possibly another failed cycle.. Any information would be great.

Hi!
What you are describing is typical for an IVF cycle.  Progesterone can cause all of the symptoms that you are experiencing.  I often have women write in and wonder if the symptoms mean that the cycle failed or succeeded, but only the hcg level can give us that information.
I wish you all the best!

Hi Jenni

I'm 7 days post tranfer of 1 a 5 cell embryo and 1 a 6 cell embryo. The day after the transfer the pelvic pain was almost unbearable. I'm now experiencing breast tenderness, low back pain and mild pelvic pain. I did an HPT that was negative, I think it's just to early to tell. Stay positive.
