I was actually looking at one point at NCCRM also, and I had gotten the same answer. 6months to a year wait. Then, we got very lucky and fortunate to have some one on here donate their embryos to us.
Anyway, I don't know if you would be willing to travel, but there is a place in Califonia called California Conceptions that has an excellent ED program, it like $9,800 for 3 tries, and it's refundable. I also know that there are several clinics in TX that are offering ED's. You would have to call around to find out which ones, but I do know there are several clinics that have ED programs.
I also know that journey2motherhood is using frozen donor eggs. This is with a clinic in New York. It is also quite inexpensive.
We faced the same issues as you when looking for ED's. It seems like there are 1,000's of them out there, needing parents, but no way to connect the people with the need.
Let me know if there is anyway I can help! I have done alot of research on this : )
Unfortunately, it is true. They changed the rules of transfer because of "octomom" and all the multiples out there. I too wanted twins (mine didn't take). You may be able to talk the RE into transferring 3. It depends on the grade of the embryo - they are letting them grow longer outside the womb so they have a better idea which ones will take and which won't. You may still get your twins even with 2 :)
I will do my first ivf next month, after 3 cycle of iui, 2 of them were relations. I asked my doctor if she can transfer more than 3 so I can increase my chances, she said due to my Age 33 she can max transfer 2 !!!! Is that true. To be honest I really want twins!
I think I sent u a note but not sure so I would be glad to donate for free if u are interested
Oh, and the time frame was under 4 months from start to finish.
I have to disagree, donated embryos are not costly.
Adopted embryos are, but not donated. There is a huge cost diffference between the 2. Adopting embryos can cost 30,000... where as donated embryos, if done through a clinic, can be free except for the cost of the transfer. You don't have to do a home study with donated embryos either. Adopted embryos can open up for the children to find out who their "parents" are, as with donated embyos, they are donated anonomysly in most instances. It cost me under $2,500 total cost to receive donated embryos, and that was because I was offered the embryos and didn't go through a clinic. This was for the cost of the attoney for both parties, and for moving costs for the embryos.
Hi!
The process of donating embryos is quite difficult, costly and time consuming, so unfortunately, I suspect a majority of women are opting to destroy them when the time comes. I don't know why everything has to be so difficult, and am sad to hear how long the wait list is for women who have probably already been waiting for years in most cases.
Donor eggs may be the better option, but yes, there again, quite costly. The ladies who donate the eggs certainly deserve compensation for what they go through in my opinion.
Other than offering sympathy and encouragement (It WILL all be worth it in the end!)
I don't know what else I can do for you -- but DONT give up1
Good luck!

You sure can! along the top blue MedHelp bar,at the top of this page, there is a tab that says people. Click on that, and on the right hand side of the page it will say nickname. type in journey2motherhood, and it will bring her up. Then just click on her, and you can leave her a note. : )
Let me know if I can help any other way!! : )
I never heard of frozen donor eggs. Is there anyway I can connect with journey2motherhood on here? I'm new here so I'm not sure how to maneuver myself around.
