my doctor put me on metformin and clomid to take since I dont have a regular period and im in the same position trying to conceive as well
Hi!
Yes, it is still possible to conceive with irregular periods, it is just more unpredictable when it will happen, and may take longer.
If you were my patient, I would check some basic lab work such as thyroid studies and prolactin levels as well as FSH. Depending upon what these tests showed, I might then prescribe Clomid or Femara to help you ovulate more frequently and speed up the time to conception. Sometimes Metformin is a good adjunct too.
If you are overweight, losing as little as 10 lb can help too.
Good luck!
