White Blood Cells in Semen and Infertility
Can you tell me if a man has prostatitis if there is a "cure".  My husband has white blood cells in semen.  2 rounds of cipor, 1 month 2 a day, and 6 weeks once a day.  Now he is scheduled for a prostate massage.  The question I am asking is there a cure for this monster?  He has no symptoms of prostatitis the only way we found out was because we were unable to get pregnant after a year of trying.  I have tested fine so far.  HSG good, follicle stimulating hormone good.  I have never been on birth control.  What can be the next steps after a prostate massage?

First, are you sure these are white cells? White cells and immature sperm are indistiguishable from each other. There are special stains that can be used to differentiate between the two.

If they are truly white cells, then antibiotics would be the first choice. If they are immature sperm, then antibiotics will not help.

Your provider should request from the lab doing your semenanalysis to do the special staining to determine.
