Four Miscarriages Need Help!

I have a bifurcated uterus along with four miscarriages.  The research I've done tells me that I need a resection of my uterine septum.  It's an out-patient procedure.  No insurance, at least not at this point.  Does anyone know what the cost is of this procedure.  Any information would be awesome.  My husband and I are stuck, have no idea what to do next.  Thanks

You are correct that in your situation a surgery "might" be the way to go.  I say "might" because there are some conditions in which surgery is the best option and some in which it isn't.  If you have a uterine septum, this can be corrected by a skilled surgeon through a procedure known as a hysteroscopy.  This is typically an outpatient procedure and the cost would be VERY approximately $2000.  
If you have a bicornuate uterus, the story is very different.  In this case, a good surgeon might advise you NOT to have surgery.  There IS a procedure known as a metroplasty which is a major surgery and typically done as an inpatient procedure.  Naturally costs will be higher for that.
My recommendation to you would be to go to a university program -- one with medical residents and fellows.  There you could get a consultation with an expert in fertility and might be given free care if you qualify.

First off, I am sorry to hear about your m/c's.  I have a septum uterus, and know how frustrating it can be.  I had a m/c a year ago, and haven't been able to get pregnant since.  I consulted on of the top uterine surgeons in the u.s. on this, and am actually having surgery with him on Jan 17.  He is located in L.A., and his name is Dr. Charles March.  I was originally mis diagnosed with Ashermans syndrome (inner uterine adhesions) and have has 2 surgeries to "correct" it.  The research from this is what put me in contact with Dr. March.  I can tell you if you would like to email him on your situation, he answers emails for free, and is a wonderful sounding board, and will tell you what he recommends that you do.  He emailed me many many times, and even spoke with me on the phone serveral times with no cost.  It was only after I fowarded my medical records, and had an official phone consultation, that I was charged.    If you would like, I could private message you his email.... I know ladies from all over the world go to him for surgery.... and many don't have insurance.
The 1 thing I can recommend, and or advise is... please research the person you are inclined to go with for this sugery.  The septum part of your uterus is where the embryo implants (which I am sure you know) and it is vital that it is corrected the right way.  Please, don't be like me, and have 2 surgeries, with 2 different doc's only to have them both preform the surgery incorrectly.
