Frustrated..

Let me start  from the begiining.. I have had a more then a few sex partners .. 5 ... was never a big fan of condoms or birth control.. condoms made me break out in a rash and birth control always made me gain over 50 lbs.. So by the sex partner I was no longer using anything I was with him about 2 years and never got pregnant .. right after we broke up him and his new girl had a baby boy... number 3 and I broke up he moved on and soon had a baby boy also had a girl before to someone else.. Number 4 who was my husband tried for over a year and nothing.. now 5 and I have been trying with also no luck for a year!!! i did have my right ovary and tube removed due to a terrible issue with my apendix.. and durning that surgery they had to clean out my left tube that was blocked almost 75% but that surgery was over 2 years ago. So is it time for me to see someone? I know my obgyn always tells me that I am fine and should be able to get pregnant.. however he was also the same guy when my apendix was bad and I had 103 fever with a very high white blood cell count said "its prob all in your head but we will go in a take a look anyway" Also what might the next step be in the process... I am 27 will be 28 I dont want to wait to much longer!

Hi!
There is a fairly simple answer to your question--you need to have an HSG.  That is a dye study of your tubes in which they can test to see if they are open or blocked.  If they are blocked (I'll bet you a million, that remaining one IS blocked) you will want to consider in vitro fertilization as your best option for conception.  They could try to unblock the tube, but that usually ends up in tubal pregnancies.

Good luck!

PS  if your doctor won't order an HSG, get a new doctor!

Hoenstly, if I were you I would find another Dr., I am kinda in the same boat as you but not completely. When I was 13 I had to have my left ovary and tube removed because of a 10cm cyst that took it over, and also my appendix.  They told me that I would be fine and I would have a period and be able to become pregnant, well now I am 26 with no periods and still never able to conceive, I am trying to get answers myself but please don't wait longer, just try to get another OB/GYN that is more crediable than the one you have and put your foot down and tell them you want to know if there is something wrong with your hormones or if maybe you have blockage again.  I know how you feel about your ex partners and with them having babies, a few of my exs have children now too.  So do yoursellf the favor and go find a Dr. that will take your concerns serious and help you find the Right answer.  Good Luck and please keep me posted or if you need to talk just send me a message!! ~Brandi
