Will I ever get pregnant?

Hi, my name is Sarah and my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since July of 07. So far we have not had any luck. I stopped taking the birthcontrol pill in July and I haven't had a "normal" period since. My doctor gave me progesterone to take for 10 days every month for 3 months. I took that in Dec, Jan and Feb... I have not had a period since Feb15th. This is all strange for me because I have never had any female problems in my past. Does anyone have any insight on why I'm not getting my period? Thank you!

Its very possible that is can be PO-S. I myself got diagnosed for that, when I was  17 years old, and have been on medication for it since then. ( currently almost 19). The best thing to do is probably taking the meds my doctor calls " happy pregnancy pills" and hope for the best. If you had a regular period before the pills, then you probably aren't infertile.

I hope the best for you!

Well, I went to the doctors today. I have to do blood work and a ultrasound. She told me it could be polycystic ovary sydrome or my thyroid. I'll find out next week.... I'll keep you all posted. Thanks!

Pleaaaaase have your estrogen levels checked.  Are you thin or underweight?  When you are thin, your body stops producing estrogen to prevent you from ovulating and becoming pregnant.  I had lost some weight but was getting my periods, much lighter than normal.  After two years of being poked and poked and a couple rounds of clomid and iui - got labeled with unexplained infertility, then hearing just stop thinking about it and see an accupuncturist, i finally had an endocronoligist do blood work and found out my estrogen was too low to provide for a good lining. I'm on premarin now and we'll see.

Question for you on astroglide.  I was at my gyn last week and he said astroglide was the ONLY lubricant that was fertility friendly.  I noticed you wrote that it wasn't.  Can you please give me some insight on this?  Thank you!

I came off my birth contorl pill in july 2006 - i didn't have a period at all until end of oct 06 and then they were really irregular every 45 - 55days until oct 07 (it was sooooo fraustrating) the last 6 months though i've really got to know my body - my periods are regular pretty much to the day (finally) & i know through ov testing my day of ovulation. I've had my HSG done last week (all clear) and all my bloods & husbands semen test fine.
So thankfully seems to be no problems ~ so I guess its just one of those keep trying & waiting games.
So don't worry - as upsetting & fraustrating as it is - i'm sure all our times will come.
Good luck too you :o)

Why doesnt your doc put you on provera or is that the same as progesterone? Well have you had a hsg done to see if your tubes are clear? Did you hubby have a sperm analysis done? You should get the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility! I will help you a ton. Not be to all in your business but how is you cervical mucus BECAUSE it could be hostile to your hubby's sperm and you may need to use preseed the ONLY sperm friendly lube! All others like KY Astroglide etc. KILL sperm even your SALVIA! So you have alot of things to take in consideration. Let me know whats going on. Hope I helped

First consideration will obviously be of ruling out pregnancy if u havent yet. It seems that it is time for u to go for baseline study (LH, FSH, pelvic ultrasound, husband semen analysis etc) . Apparently seems to me it is the result of anovulation in ur case.

Hey  i feel you. me and my finacee have been trying since june of 07 and been off birth control for a year and I been pregnant once lost it. and i struggle everyday because thats all we want to be a family and have a baby. but i just learned to accept that when god is ready for you to be a mother he will bless you but only when he feels that you are ready. Just dont worry about it and like my hubby says have fun while your making a baby, dont make it work. I know i was making him feel like he had a second job i was working him so hard. Now we are just relaxing and waiting. Good luck though. Did you take a home pregnancy test? Maybe you need to have blood work done to tell if your pregnant. The hormones might be the cause of you not having your period, usually if you dont get your period that means that you are not ovulating and sometimes the hormones can work against you. I hope that you get the lil blessing you been wanting
