Hi

I haven't experienced any difficulties w/ ovulation but an ovarian cyst was noted on the LT ovary before I started my first cycle. I was placed on BCP for about five weeks to minimize the cyst. As far as ovulation, there are MEDS that can be administered to aid w/ Ovulation such as:

•Clomid (Serophene, clomiphene citrate)

•Femara or letrozole and other aromatase inhibitors

•Injectable gonadotropins, injectable FSH hormone products

•The GnRH pump

•Bromocriptine

If you are having issues w/ ovulation your RE should develop a MED regimen to aid you w/ follicle development and ovulation. Hope everything works out for you. :)

Hi!
After reading your story, I'm going to bet that the problem lies with the medications that were administered.  Depending upon what you want to do next, it might be prudent to do nothing at all at this point, and just let your system quiet down.  You will probably either notice that you are ovulating, or have a period within 6-8 weeks.  Often the time after a cancelled IVF cycle is quite fertile, so do what comes naturally.
If you were my patient, I would say, just take it easy and rest and call me if nothing has happened within 6-8 weeks.
Good luck!
Dr B
Oh--by the way, I would want to do another ultrasound at that point to check on the cyst too.

Thank you for your reply ! I forgot to mention that the 2nd day of my "first period" i went in for ultrasound and bloodwork saw that i had a follicle at 26mm and 1 under it at 13mm..so they tested my urine and i had high LH so the doctor gave me a shot of the HCG then the next morning we did IUI they saw the follicle did not collapse so i did another IUI the following day..then the next week I started my period for  6 days..(2nd period in a week) so i did not ovulate..i wondered if the meds messed me up and if so how long should i expect to be messed up? Thanks so much for help
