Is CM... clear mucous????
I am on Clomid and for 12 days straight - I had it scantly... every day.  It was very confusing... my hubbie was exhausted by the first week because I kept making him perform.  haha   Then on day 26, 2 days before my period, my OPK was very POSITIVE and I had a lot of wet and clear.... its day 38 of my cycle and still no period or PPT.  I just finished progesterone to bring on a period.... nothing yet and my temp is still high.  Very, very frustrating!

CM is necessary since it allows sperm to hang around for days waiting for the egg to drop (otherwise they will just die).  I do not check my cervix since I rely on OPK's and EWCM as signs of ovulation.  If your doc is doing u/s monitoring you don't need to check anything though.

Same thing, different terms.  I don't do the cm check.  It just isn't as accurate as OPK's and temping, so I rely on them instead.  But, how you check is to just insert your fingers, feel for you cervix and check the mucus.  That simple and that complicated.  Theres a great book that describes the process and show pics of your cervix and compares cm.  It's called Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd  YES very good to have cm.  Without it the little guys can't get through cervix to the uterus and reach the blessed egg.  You can use something called preseed to help also.

Yeah, CM and discharge is the same thing. And yes, having CM is a good thing! It will change to a slippery, stretchy consistency right before ovulation, giving you an advanced notice that it's time to get busy :-)

You can check your cervix by inserting a finger while squatting down (to better reach). The cervix will be low and firm the majority of the cycle, but high and soft right before ovulation, when you're most fertile.

Hope that helps!
