1st Failed IVF Cycle

Hi Everybody i have just had my 1st IVF Cycle which failed i started bleeding 12 days after embryo transfer which was 3rd March, the bleeding and clotting finished 8th March.  I have been granted a second Cycle but my Doctor said i had to have a clear period 1st then i would start my 2nd cycle.  Does any body have any hints at what i could eat or what not to eat/any suppliments i could take that would help me get ready for my next cycle.  I seemed to gain weight on my last cycle and still feel really bloated.  Any replys would be greatly appreciated.  :-)

I am in the same boat.  I am so sorry about your cycle.  It is truly crushing.  I say just rest and try to take care of yourself.  This IVF roller coaster is so hard on body and mind.  Try yoga, meditation, organic foods, and anything relaxing.

I am so very sorry to hear that it didn't work.  I know how devastating it can be.

I personally try to eat as much organic foods as I can, because pesticides and preservatives contain estrogens which can throw off your hormones even more!  You'd be surprised what's available - even convenience foods come organic.  I live in the sticks and we just have a Wegmans but they have a pretty large section.  I'm not sure where you live, but there may be at least a little bit that you have access to if you look.

It's just better for the body in general.  Try to avoid any processed foods or things with high fructose corn syrup (which is in just about every standard, nonorganic food in the grocery store!).  I know it can be pricy, so my advice is do what you can.  If there is ONE thing you change, at least buy hormone free meats.  Especially red meat.  If you can buy organic, that's even better!

I too had a failed first cycle and had to wait the same length of time that you have to for the second. I took a daily vitamin, omega 3 and folic acid. I also made sure to eat many fresh in season foods. Simply taking care of yorself is the best thing you can do. Get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids and stay as stress free as you can.  Good luck!
