Temp variations on different side of mouth. Which temp to record?

Ok, I thought AF was on her way the other day.  Temp went from 98.6 down to 97.2 and I was spotting a little (7 dpo).  I was sure AF was definitely going to show.  However....she still hasn't and temp was back up yesterday morning to above coverline.  Went to dr yesterday since she was going to be out all next week and wanted prescription for clomid in case I started.  My progesterone test at 6 dpo was 12.8.  She said was okay but not great and upped the dosage to 150 mg and added prometrium.  Anyway, this morning I took BBT and it was down to 97.2 again.  Just to be sure, I took another temp on the other side of mouth underneath tongue and got a 97.7!  I kept taking my temp at different spots, switched to regular digital thermometer which I keep beside my bed also, and my temps were all over the place (96.89 up to 97.8) but mainly fell around 97.7.  So my question is, which do I record?  I really want to record the 97.7 just to keep some hope but if I should put 97.2, then I want to do what is accurate?  Has anyone had this problem?  It makes me question my previous reading the other day of 97.2 since I only took it once that day.  So I'm hoping the spotting was just implantation.  If only I could get so lucky.  Sorry to go on and on.  Any help greatly appreciated.

My temp does that if I take it in different spots. You're supposed to use the same spot/ same side every time you temp :)

I'm not sure I would guess to record the temp in the normal spot you take it in. Switching spots will only lead to confussion. It might have been just a dip=) lots of baby dust your way

you should pick one spot and always use the same.
I picked the middle of my tongue and stick with that :)

I'm usually so sleepy when I take it that I don't remember which spot I take it in, which could be why my post-ovulatory temps have been so sawtooth, but still above coverline.  Hopefully, this is our month and I won't have to worry about again.  BTW, I'm 10 dpo now.  Would it be too soon to test with a 25 HCG test tomorrow morning?  Would it pick up yet?  My dr said to not test until day 40 which is still 6 days away!  LOL!
