CD 6 - Started menopur on CD 4 - Who's with me?

As I was looking through the posts, it seems like a lot of ladies are right around where I am. Who's around CD 6 and taking shots? Thought we could stick together and vent or whatever! HUGS and SSBD to all!

Jen (On my last round of meds til January - can't take much more in a row)

Told you! That CLomid is wicked! My shots don't do anything to me - but that clomid - WHEEEEE DOGGIE! Have you used progesterone suppositories yet? I thought I was going to DIE on those things. I was sweating like a pig all day everyday. I would wake UP sweating from those things!

Hi girls! I'm in! CD4 today, and took my first menopur shot last night. Will take two more, one on Friday and one on Sunday. Man, I hope we get A LOT of BFPs this month!!!

Oh, and the progesterone supplements are usually taken after ovulation until you take a pregnancy test. If positive, you'll continue taking it until the end of the first trimester, and if it's negative you'll stop and start a new cycle. But hopefully, you'll be on it for the next three months!

SSBD to everyone!!!

Holy Cwap! is anyone watching "OMG Sextuplets" right now? It's on We. This lady had been trying for over three years with two miscarriages (very similar to me, actually). She then took follistim, did an IUI and got pregnant with six babies!!! I would be totally fine with twins...but six!!!

I'm so glad my DH is at a concert right now. I think watching this would have made him a little bit too nervous about this cycle...LOL!

I WATCHED THAT SHOW TOO! I was FREAKED OUT!  She said that she only had 2-3 mature eggs when they gave her the IUI and then BAMMMM! 6 babies! I would have died! So that meant a few more eggs caught up by the time she O'ed. CRAZY!!!

I know!!! Totally crazy!!! I was kinda hoping for more eggs this time, since I've added Menopur (I would typically get two with Femara alone)...but now I'm not sure. My RE said 3-4 would be good, since only about 60% of eggs tend to fertilize (I believe he based that on the average fertilization rate for IVF).

Oh well... I'm now halfway through my femara pills and will take my second shot of Menopur tonight.

How is everyone else doing?

That's great that your RE is on top of it all, I'll see mine Monday to see my follicle size/s. Does doubling the menopur mean 2 shots or just more medicine in the syringe?

Hi ladies! Hope I can jump in here too!
I am on cd8 today and starting Follistim (150iu) tonight and Monday and Tuesday. Just finished round 4 of Femara cd3-7(2 a day), and will have u/s and Novarel shot (10,000 unit) this Thursday (cd12).

Hey MamaTIna! Welcome! Sounds like a good plan. How are your eggies doing?

Fawn - doubling the meds is still one shot - you just mix them together and add more sodium chloride. I hope it gets these eggies going. I am so scared I will get a BFN this cycle. I broke down and lost it yesterday just because we will have to spend so much more money then we had planned this month. Being a teacher is not conducive to trying to have a baby. Insurance helps out but it is still soooooo hard. The nurse is trying to get some donations for me, but who knows. The pharmacy never called me to get my meds shipped so now I will be pushing it to get my meds on Tuesday. I have another u/s Tuesday morning so they may drop me down to one shot if my eggies took off :)

How are you doing?

MamaTina89 ~ Nice to see you on here as a Cycle Buddy...Yay!

Jen ~ That ***** about the med situation but I am sending lots of SSBD your way so that your eggies got nice and big! I'm doing good just waiting to give myself the last shot of Bravelle and then I get to see the RE in the morning, I'm worried shes gonna say, "sorry no good follies this month." Nooooooo!

Hi girls! Well, I'm done with my meds. CD7 today and just took my last femara pills this a.m. and the last menopur shot about 10 minutes ago! So now I just have to wait for my CD12 sonogram on Friday. Hopefully things will look good!

Hey, a quick question for Jen and anyone else who has used menopur. The last two shots I took burned a little bit when going in (not the needle going in, but the actual liquid)...but this third and last shot I couldn't feel at all! Has this happened to anyone else?

MamaTina: Glad you found our thread! Good luck with your follistim injections!

Fawn: I'm sure things will look good in the morning! Best of luck, and keep us posted after your appointment!

Jen: Man, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all this. Fertility meds are so expensive, and it makes it extra hard to go through all of this when we also have to worry about the whole money situation. I'll be crossing my fingers for you and all your little eggies! Hopefully everything will look good on Tuesday and you can cut down on the shots.

Hey Heather,

I actually had great luck the first few shots but I had the slight burning feeling as well. At first I was like, "hey this is cake and then the last few I was like thank God this is over." I could feel the liquid moving around after the shot, I thought it was because of my stretchmarks but I guess not. So I will wait for an answer with you and I will be sure to update tomorrow. =)

Good morning ladies! I am SO proud of myself... I gave MYSELF my Follistim shot in the upper thigh last night. Wasn't too bad, burned a little afterwards but its all good. Kinda confused today though.....AF has come n gone BUT, I had off-n-on cramps yesterday, and DH and I bd last night and still had cramps after that. And this morning (sorry if this is TMI), I went to bathroom and there was bright pinkish-red blood?????WHAT!? That was the 1st time we bd'd since my HSG test last month...so I am wondering if that was a factor in the blood??? Oh well.....feeling like my ovaries are going CRAZY!!! Happy Monday to all!!! :)

MamaTina~ Good job, the first one is always the hardest.

I went to my RE today and I had 2 big follicles on my right side but no big ones on the left side (darn it). I'm going to try to post the measurements but they were really nice the RE said. I had my HCG shot and I go for an IUI tomorrow morning and Wednesday morning and pregnancy blood test on October 1st. I was wondering if my chances aren't as good because I have no follicles on the left side? Wishing everyone else big follicles and BFP's. =)

Ooooh, good luck tomorrow and Wednesday, Fawn! Unless you have any blockages, it shouldn't matter that both your eggs are on the same side. Hopefully it will be a BIG FAT POSITIVE on October 1!!!

Tina: The cramps are probably from the meds, I would think, since your ovaries are working on overtime producing all those nice, big follicles :-) As for the blood, unless you see any more, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm guessing the BD session just irritated your cervix a little.

Hey, I was wondering, should we add a list of where we are in our cycles, like they do on some of the other threads? This might be a little off, so let me know if I need to update it...

Fawn -- CD11, clomid/bravelle, 2 mature follicles, IUI Tuesday and Wednesday
Jen -- CD10, clomid/menopur, next sono Tuesday
Tina -- CD9, femara/follistim, CD12 sono Thursday
Heather -- CD8, femara/menopur, CD12 sono Friday

:-)

Sounds very good, Fawn!!! If you triggered at that time, your follicles should be about 20 and 24 by the time you ovulate! Wohoo!!!

...oh, and thanks for correcting the info. I figured I'd get some of it wrong ;-) I'll update it a little later when the rest of the girls have had a chance to review it too.
