I have been on Clomid for 7 months (this cycle will be 7). I started out on 50mg for the first 4 months, was getting an LH surge but no follicle. I have taken 100 mg for 2 cycles now. The only thing is that AF has completely stopped and I'm so confused. It lasted for about 30 minutes and then completely stopped and has not been back for 24 hours. Could this have been heavy implantation bleeding and not AF? Don't know what to do, waiting for RE to call back, because I'm not sure whether to take the Clomid tomorrow.
7 months is a long time to be on Clomid. The IUI itself probably does not have anything to do with the LP length. Has your RE mentioned moving on to injectables? It is frustrating. On the first two months of injectables, af arrived way early.
My LP is usually about 14-15 days. I usually O on day 18 and start on Day 33. This time, with the first IUI, I o'd on day 18 and then I start today. Could the IUI have caused the LP to be shorter this time?
So sorry about AF :( LP should be at least 12 days long so that may be a problem. I am a little bit surprised since clomid typically extended LP.
You should be careful with how long you take your clomid since it makes your lining thin. Did your doc checked your lining? Most doc's will not let you take clomid beyond 6 months for that reason.
I hope next month is your month! Good luck!
I am on my 5th IUI and still no luck. I guess they say after the 6th that there is a slim chance of it working. I've had all the tests and they say I'm healthy. Don't know why it isn't working. I am using a donor since my DH had a vasectomy.
AF came 2 days early this mo too - i had IUI and trigger shot.
This next try - just doing IUI - since i would need trigger on a Sunday and they arent open. IUI on monday.
Anyone else?
It will happen. I have a 5yr old too, got preg. w/o ever trying with her, and we have been trying now, well, pretty much since she was born. I always wanted my kids close.
My friend just went thru IUI, she was perfect, husband had slow sperm. She didn't get preg until the third time. It seems like most people have to do it more than once.
We have been TTC for 14 months. I have taken 7 cycles of Clomid and this was my first IUI. All my hormone levels have been checked and DH has had an s/a. His counts were great for the IUI, something like 104 million. All I need is one, just one. I had an HPG and found that I had a slow left tube, but the right was very clear and functional. I have mild endometriosis and scar tissue from a previous C-Section. My son is 11 now. The only other thing I can think of is that I have a septate uterus, but I was able to carry my son to full term. Oh well, my doctor has already called in my next prescription of Clomid since I take them days 3-7 and DH and I have agreed to try IUI again this month.
Thanks for your support and understanding. It's nice to know I'm not alone.
I will keep you in my prayers.
I'm sorry that sucks. I know they say It could take seveal IUI's, but I know
I would just assume the first try would work, so I can't imagine the disappointment.
Don't blame yourself. It's not anything you are doing, it's just mother nature. The perfect baby is waiting for the perfect time to be born to just you.
Yes, I agree with Jen...enjoy the wine esp!!! I just went into tww and I'm tryin to decide if I should or not!
I'm sure DH will understand, it's not like it's your first valentines, and he'll pobably be disappointed to. Celebrate this weekend if you can when the hurt isn't so fresh
I'm right there with you sweetie. LP has been between 9 & 11. Finally got 13 this time only to have AF show up 2 hours ago.
Have you had your hormone levels checked? I'm going for FSH E2 and DP is going to have s/a done. How long have u been ttcing?
Try to enjoy valentine's day...bath, chocolate, wine...whatever works for u. Take the day for urself and let him pamper you.
