Overly anxious first time clomid user

I've heard of women taking clomid with other forms of feritlity drugs at the same time...does any one know what's more effective or why there are so many different variations?

This discussion is related to who is on clomid.

I took 3rd round of clomid but did nothing for me even i  know that i ovulate regularly so my gyne cant do anything for me anymore to make me pregnant so they recommend for me to see an RE. I made an appoitnment with the RE Oct26 and had an ultrasound that day. The next day Oct27 when i got my 1st day of period they gave me prescription for my 50g 5-9day clomid. I started clomid on Oct31 through Nov4. I had my hsg done Nov5. I had another ultrasound Nov9 and gave me hcg shot also that day. I had my iui Nov11 and progesterone Nov18. I took hpt Nov27 and it was positive. I went to see my RE today to confirm and so happy to know that im indeed pregnant for my first time round of hcg/iui. So hang in there girl things will eventually get better for you. Goodluck!

Thanks for responding, this is still my first round and our first trial with prometrium and clomid. I still have til the second week in December to see if I miss my period or not. I do have irregular periods and sometimes go months with out a period and sometimes go months with having a period. Last year I had a 60lbs cyst removed that they believed to be coming from my left ovary and I had to have my left ovary partially removed so I'm workin on one ovary and one fallopian tube. Although when they did the ultrasound I can't remember the name of it(where they put dye in you and you can see if it splashes out of the tubes on the monitor..sopinogram or something)they did say that my right side functions really good so it's gonna be a little harder for me to begin with. I've just seen so many different women with so many different variations of fertility pills it's just kind of overwhelming and makes me wonder if there are more effective ways. I'm sure each is different for each woman and their specific issues. My doctor will be monitoring me and keeping a close watch but has not asked me to monitor anything at this time-he did say if this didn't work this round then he'd start giving me insulin shots with it also.

I got pregnant with my daughter on my thrid round of Clomid. Sometimes it takes longer as they need to find the correct dose that will help you to ovulate. 50mg did nothing for me but 100mg did.  I was also on estradiol to help with my cervical mucus which Clomid tends to dry up. I was also on prometrium to make sure baby had a nice lining to implant into.

Is your doctor going to monitor you with labwork and ultrasounds to ensure Clomid is working for you?

You can test for preg the first day of a missed period.  Clomid works great for some women and not at all for others. Do not be disappointed if it takes time.

I started taking prometrium in the beginning of november and was told I'd probably have to wait til after thanksgiving before I'd start my menstrual cycle, well two days after I stopped taking the medicine I started and shortly after started taking my clomid on the 5th day...my doctor said to make sure me and my hunny are extra frisky for the next two weeks and to come back in after the two weeks is up. I'm so anxious I don't know what to do with myself...how long after taking clomid could I possibly get pregnant? This is my first round and I'm trying not to get my hopes up but it's hard. Just looking for some kind of feedback to know I'm not the only one with these questions and fears and need to know how to prepare myself if it doesn't happen this month or the next?
