I am so excited for you. The twins are doing great! I can't wait to see how much Shelby has put on at our next appointment. She ate 3 oz this morning that I had pumped and seems heavier. I can't wait until she sleeps for 4 hours at a time. That would be so great. I'm still not loving breastfeeding. It hurts and seems like there is never a break. She always wants to eat. I'm going to stick it out for 3 m onths and then switch to my frozen milk and by then she'll be (hopefully) 6 months and we are switching to formula. That's the plan anyways... gotta go, she's crying....
XOXO

sbumblebeeo: That's a great plan & good you've got so much milk stored away :) When mine were in the hospital, I was leaving enough with the nurses to feed them both through the night & while I was away, then pumping & breastfeeding while I was there. After having them home, breastfeeding got to be too difficult & I just decided yesterday to stop pumping too, but I'm ok with my decision. It was getting to be so hard for me to even find time to pump! Then my bbs would be so painful til I pumped & dumped... Anyway, I'm grateful that I was able to supply so much breast milk at the critical time for my little ones & I'm happy they're doing so well now without it ;) Dont worry about your supply drying up. As long as you're breastfeeding/pumping, you should be just fine :) Have a great weekend!
Hey! ... Ava and Rick are doing so good with the weight! great job mommy! Poor Rick and Ava getting their first shots, did you cry? ;o( I have to go ck the new pics! I was expecting AF today but nothing so far, probably the pills Lydia Pinkham that I was taking during the first two weeks of the cyle have affected the cycle and maybe making it a little longer...who knows...
To all: We have offcially started the adoption process! YAy! we are so happy! Is like if we just found out we were pregnant, the only difference, we aren't sure how soon we will meet her or him....we asked for a girl, but we are open to boys and also siblings.
Rachjas: I now know how the process is, is a lot simpler than I thought...
1. application - ok done
2. documents - ok done
3. certify by the agency to start the official process - ok done
Next steps
4. home study - no later than 30 days after the certification (before may 16)
5. 10 hour class - not sure when
6. Match
7. supervised visits
8. over nigths stay at home
9. a definate stay for 3 to 6 months - Evalution period
10. Ok from the agency to start the legal process
11. 75 days to legalize the adoption
12. Celebration day - a For ever Family!!! ;o)
How about you, where are you now, did you get the home study done?
Keyan-
What we have done...
1. Attend orientation
2. Application
3. Tons of paperwork & background checks
4. Homestudy Education Classes
5. CPR & Choking Class
6. Physicals
7. Fire Inspection
8. Get References
9. Homestudy (Interviews & Inspection)
What we need to finish..
1. Profile (almost there)
What is next...
1. Be put in the books/on the waitlist
2. Match
3. Placement
4. 6 months later finalization
Keyan, I am so happy for you! I can't wait to hear about all of your updates.
mommy- thats the way i feel. i was only able to pump for 5 weeks with jaedyn because my supply was not enough, which was my own fault because i was barely eating or drinking, so focused on him. but i feel that i gave him the first part which i all the antibodies and things he needs for his immune system so i feel i did the best i could. thats all we can do is try and see how it goes.

Keyan & Rachjas: Sounds like you're both well on your way to adopting! The process is so involved & it's keeping you busy. It's good to get your mind off ttc ;) This is really exciting! Keep us posted on your progress! :)
Keila: Thank you :) Yes, we're so blessed. They're doing well & they ate just perfect! It's always good to hear AF hasn't shown... Let's hope it's not because of the pills ... Best wishes!!!
Leighanne: 5 weeks is great & Jaedyn is doing great :) I'm starting my bcp's today. I had delayed til I was sure I was done pumping because bcp's are just another thing that decreases your milk supply. Thanks for the pic comments :)
Birth control pills. Don't want any surprises just yet... My hands are full at the moment ;)
Rachjas: the physicals, references, background cks and other docs, we had to do them and deliver them with the application (that's why we couldn't deliver the application earlier)....I am not sure about the profile, are you trying open adoption? probably that's why you had to do that, I think we are only one step back from you and your DH, the homestudy and interviews, which by law has to be done before may 16 and of the class. How was the homestudy experience? we are suppose to have a room done for the child for when the homestudy occurs, but since we are open for a range of 0-2 and it could be either gender, we won't have the room ready, but we do have to show we have made plans and arrangements to have the room ready as soon as the match occurs.
Mommyin10: ha ha ha YES! I am sure your hands are full for the moment! I am sure is weird though, after TTC for so long, getting back with BCP. You guys haven't made the decision if you will try for number 3, right? Still no AF, we have talked about the possibility of both (BFP and adoption) happening around the same time, and dh says he is ok to go with both, I am too, but is just a little overwhelming to think about it, just imagine going from just us two, to four, or who knows, if a family of 5, because we are open to siblings too!
That's wonderful that you're open to siblings! :) Could you prepare a room in neutral colors & then decorate once you're matched? How exciting!!! It would be meant to be if you get your bfp & adopt a child. Perhaps there's a child or more out there who were meant to be adopted by you & dh & you never would have applied if you had conceived on your own. So, your natural child is just waiting for the adoption process to occur ;) That's how I see it! No, we haven't decided on #3. I feel like we're set with our boy & girl, but only time will tell ;)

It's been awhile since I have actually wrote anything....I go back to the diabetic specialist tomorrow, I don't see where my sugar is all that bad, but we will see what he has to say. When I was there 2 weeks ago he wanted my level to be under 100 2 hours after I ate. I have managed to do that for the most part, but there were a few days that it was over 100, but not by much. The highest I have had was 117 and that was after pizza.... I really don't want to be put on insulin or anything, but we will see what happens.
I go back to my OB on Thursday..... to see about the weight gain, I have weighed myself everyday since then and I haven't gained any. Not to be TMI, but couldn't being constipated have a good reason for some weight gain? I literally have only gone once in the past 2 weeks without the help of meds! The only other times I have gone is with me taking the meds that she gave me.
I have had a few scares with a little pain here and a pain there, but I think it is just due to the fact that he is getting bigger. It's like he is balling up or something....the pain didn't last long....so I don't think it was anything to worry about now.
Well I need to get off of here...My sister in law was having pains this morning (she's due April 23rd), so I have her 2 and 4 year old boys....the are calling....lol
I will update tomorrow!
Hey everyone...I know it's been a loooong time since I've posted. I have gone back to work which was an adjustment at first, but I'm better now lol. My shifts are only 5hrs a few days a week which makes it nice :-) Everyone here is doing great! DS is doing well with his "Little Miss" as he calls her and Peyton is doing great also. DH and I are doing well and have decided we are done having babies. We love being parents and all and I love being pregnant - but honestly this last pregnancy really did a number on me - not to mention the cost and time for us to get get pregnant! DH has a consult for a vasectomy on the 4th. Just to be sure there won't be any surprises lol, you never know! I need to make an appt with my OBGYN - my pain is back already and it's there almost constantly. Sometimes it even wraps around to my back. I don't know what we will do about it - I've already had 4 laps and I don't want another done unless they are going to do a hyster on me...bcp's don't help either. Who knows lol...
Mommyin10: It's great the babies are doing so well and that they are getting so big! I bet things are so busy there! I'll have to go check out your pics :-)
Ad: Only once in 2wks?!!! OUCH! I would definitely bring that up to your OB and it could very well be the reason for gaining some weight - what goes in needs to come out lol! I hope you won't get put on insulin, but your numbers sound pretty good. Good luck at your appt. on Thursday!! Other than that, how have you been feeling?
Keyan: YAY for completing the process!!! That is sooo exciting! Did they give you a time frame in which you might hear something? You and DH will be terrific parents! I'm sooo excited for you guys!!!
Rachjas: Good luck on the transfer!! How have you been feeling?
I hope everyone is doing well, and I'll try to log on more often...I need to upload pics - hopefully tomorrow. I just got everything transfered to the other computer (on DH's work computer right now lol). I'll let you guys know :-) Have a great night!!
Hugs, Love and SSBD to all :-)
Can i join? I am going in again for an FET in June, I start my meds may 6...wish me luck this time!!
mommy- did your doctor offer you the mini pill? I know my doctor did was i was thinking about still trying to BF but i could not because i could not keep the supply up. towards the end i even tried the mothers lactation tea and everything.
krichar- Of course you can join! Welcome! There is a wonderful support system here so I am sure you will love it:) Several people have just had a baby or babies so soem people have not been able to post as much just to give you a heads up. Lots os luck to you this time!
I can't find the pictures on my computer!! Grrr! This is really frustrating!!
sbumblebeeo: I forgot to post to you last night :-( Anyways, how is everything going your way? I hope Shelby is getting along great and you and dh are doing well also! Post when you can!

ad_06: I hope your appt with the diabetic specialist went well today & that you won't have to be put on insulin. If you do, though, I'm here to answer any questions you might have. If you remember, I was on insulin for the last month+ of my pregnancy. It's crazy that they kept upping my doses trying to regulate my numbers, yet once the babies were born, my numbers immediately went back to normal :) Constipation is no fun, but going once in two weeks is not a fun thought. Be sure to ask your doc about that & keep drinking lots of water. Looking forward to your update! =)
dnikki: Yes, it is definitely busy around here, but nothing to complain about :) We're so happy & so fortunate & the babies are doing great! That's so cute that ds calls Peyton Little Miss! Sounds like he's enjoying his new role as big brother :) I'm sorry to hear you're having pain already & that the bcps won't help. Hopefully your doc can find a solution for you. We're in the same boat. I lOVED being pregnant and would love to go through it again, but I think we're all set with our boy & our girl, too. I started my bcps on Sunday. Can't wait to see new pics of Peyton!
leighanne: No, I asked for the same bcps I took previously. They're called Loestrin and worked good for me because too much estrogen made me nauseous. I'm not upset about my decision to stop pumping. I just wanted to make that decision before starting the pills. I'm happy to have my bbs returning to normal! haha :) I can finally sleep without wearing a bra!
Krichar: You are so welcome here! It's good to see you are ready to go forward with another IVF! I'm so excited for you & I know little Kashton is already starting his role as big brother ;) He's watching over you & his future brother or sister... Best wishes & keep us posted on your upcoming FET!
kmcarino: How are you doing? Did you decide on a name?
I forgot to update for myself :) We don't see the pediatrician again for two more weeks, but we'll make an appt with a plastic surgeon to take a look at Ricky's' hemangiomas. The pediatrician feels that he'll eventually need probably just a laser procedure, but it's best to have the surgeon see how they look now so he can have a reference point in the future. Ricky & Ava are both doing great! He's out of size Newborn diapers and into size 1 and he's been taken off the 22-calorie formula (which they were put on in the NICU in order to gain more weight). I would even supplement my breast milk because breast milk is fewer calories... Anyway, he usually gets gas bubbles in his chest & cries while feeding... the formula we switched him to last night is Similac Sensitive, and he did really well with his last feedings. No crying, which is awesome :) Hopefullyit's a good move for him. My dad has nicknamed him little Budha! We thought the same thing, seeing him sitting on our lap, so it was funny when my dad said that. He is such a chunky little guy & just so cute :) He's doing well with his tummy time & is able to lift his head on his own. I'm so impressed :) Ava is having a harder time, but she's much smaller than he is. She did lift her head last night during tummy time, but not for very long & she cried the whole time, poor thing! Anyway, they are both doing awesome & I'm loving being home with them. Although caring for two newborns can be challenging, they are really good babies & I'm just so thankful to be their mommy! I will continue praying for each and every one of you ladies who is ttc, so that you will be in similar shoes one day... You are all amazing women & will be awesome mommies!!! =)
P.S. I only meant that Ava is having a harder time with "tummy time" 'cause she's littler =)
dnikki- Thanks for checking in... Shelby and I are doing great. I am exhausted from this every 3 hours feeding schedule and can't wait for her to sleep for 4-5 hours at a time just so I can get a little rest myself but I'm not complaining at all!!! She is doing so well I can tell she has put on some weight and we'll see the doctor on the 30th for her one month well check up. I can't believe that. She'll be getting her pictures taken with me and daddy that weekend too so I am on the hunt for a cute outfit. :) Like she doesn't have enough clothes... LOL. So you went back to work? At least you only have to leave them for 5 hours at a time. That makes me jealous. I think about having to go back to work and just sit and cry. I can't imagine. DH went back yesterday and I bawled all day long until my mom got here and took my mind off things. I really liked the three of us being home together. Too bad we have so many bills. :( Well take care, I'm glad everyone has adjusted so well in your house and I'm sorry about the pain you are having. I'm not sure what that is all abou but I hope it gets better. XOXO
mommyin10- Question... how do you do tummy time? Shelby has rolled over already! She was on my bed while I was pumping after feeding her one day and boom! Right on her belly she went. And I was wondering about how you quit breastfeeding. Did you just quit? That sounds painful. My ta ta's get so full if I don't pump I am miserable. OUCH! I am still sticking with it as long as I can or 3 months, which ever comes first but when my time is up I am done. I wish I liked it but it's very painful for me for some reason. I don't think I would even have considered it with two babies! I give you a lot of credit for trying at all. You are a wonderful mommy!
Awww, thanks! :) As far as quitting breastfeeding, I stopped soon after getting home from the hospital. I was trying to do it, but I didn't feel like I had the time... So, I started doing it less and less til I finally stopped. After I stopped breastfeeding, I still pumped, but then I slowly stopped doing that, as well. I did have blocked ducts when I went without breastfeeding or pumping, then I'd pump in the morning & dump it... I finally just stopped & the soreness subsided. For tummy time, place Shelby on her belly & let her try to push up her upper body and/or lift her head. You don't have to do it for a long time. Just watch her to see how long she can stand it ;) Ava cries the whole time. Ricky cries a bit, but he can lift his head really well. I posted a picture on Facebook ;) Send me a private message with your full name & I'll find you on FB. Your email address got censored when you posted it before. That's awesome Shelby rolled over! Awesome, but scary too! Haha! Keep your eyes on her :)
I have had more than 1 BM in 2 weeks, but I've only had 1 without taking the stool softner. I will make sure I talk to her when I go back Thursday.
So my appt with the diabetic doctor went fairly good. Out of 2 weeks of testing and I only had a few higher than what he wanted them. He asked me if I knew what raised them? I told him yes....the one day I had pizza (which seems to be my craving now...lol) and the other time I just had another serving. So he said that since there is a reason they went up he is just going to keep an eye on it. He said that if my sugar starts to go up for no apparent reason then that is when he will put me on insulin. He was pleased with everything right now....he just told me to try to keep my levels under 100 and I go back in 2 weeks.
My sister in law had her baby on Monday :) we went and saw him yesterday and my goodness, that is when it really hit me.....I'm going to be a mommy!! It just really hit home because through this pregnancy we have been roughly 3 months apart....well now that he is here I know Conner will be here before we know it!!! :) He is a chunk, He weighed 8lbs 3oz, they took him via c section because her others were only 7lbs and she had trouble with them getting stuck.....so they didn't take any chances.
Well I need to get ready.....I will update after my OB appt tomorrow!
sbumble- do you have a boopy? you can prop the baby on their tummys and use that for tummy time. Or you can roll up a towel and put it under the front of the baby to propr them up slightly. Other than that just lay them flat on a play mat and sit with the baby. you want them to do tummy time so they can strengthen their neck muscles to being able to hold their head up will be easier.
ad- did you talk to your doctor about getting a prenantal prescription with less iron? that will help with the constipation.
mommy- you can use mylecon if ricky has a hard time with gas. I used to give Jaedyn a little but of it and then lay him on his belly across my knees and rub his back to help work the gas up. it always helped alot. he got relief and it worked the gas right out. I agree having your tata's go back to normal size is good. i unfortunately was small breasted to begin with so i got stretch marks on my tatas form pregnancy and BF. i need to save up money and have some repair work done on this body. between my scretch marks and my c-section tummy i am a hot mess. LOL but its all worth it.
