Cycle Day Confusion!

Ok, as embarrassing as it is for me to say, I have no idea what my cycle is. My periods used to be so random so I never bothered thinking about it. I am now trying for my 3rd child, so I just recently started an ovulation tracker. My problem is, I'm confused about the cycle day numbers. I'm assuming the numbers at the top of the tracker (the numbers below the date) are what cycle day you're on, right? Well my numbers go from 1-4, then start over again. So instead of saying I'm on CD 9 it says CD5...why is that?  I had my period for 4 days, stopped, then started spotting again. I'm guessing this is why its saying that. I've been having this problem with stopping then starting again a day or so later. Been having it for quite some time now. I thought it was normal, but after reading about that and my uterine pains I've been getting, I'm worried about endo or something. I'm going to see my gyn soon about it. I never had any problems conceiving my other 2. Just started TTC last month after having my IUD removed in May, so I'm not worried about that so much, just wondering whats going on with my CDs. I feel so ignorant to all of this.  I'm really confused as to about when I should be ovulating this month, and I can't so much count on my ovulation back pain because I have back problems anyway and its hard to distinguish the reason for the pain. Any advice or input is appreciated!

Thank u so much. I changed it to light flow and that fixed it. As far as the stopping then starting goes, I've done that before my IUD. Anyway, thanks a bunch! I'll be sure to pick up an OPK as well to help track my fertile days.

Yeah, that is weird. I think you're right, though...it's probably just the tracker being confused about going from spotting back to light flow. Try changing cycle day 4 to "light" instead of "spotting" and see if that helps. As for the stopping and starting, it could just be because of the IUD. I would probably give it a couple of months and see if it regulates now that you've had it removed.

Good luck!
