2nd Beta test results are in! I want your input :)

Hello you and you and you....

I had IVF and my transfer was on 06-27-2010.

Today is 07-13-2010 and I had my second beta test. So today is 16 days past the transfer date or 17 days if the transfer day is included.

I had two embryos transferred on day 5. ICSI for both.

==================

My 1st beta levels are as followed:

07-10-2010 (13 days after my transfer)

Progesterone level:
14

HCG level:
1062
==================

My second beta levels are as followed:

07-13-2010 (16 days after my transfer)

Progesterone level:
20.9

HCG level:
4384

==================

My wonderful nurse said that everything is looking great and I will have an ultrasound in about 11 days to look for a heartbeat. No further beta tests are needed at this point.

I just wanted to keep those of you who are following my progress, posted and list my information, in hopes that it will benefit others in some way.

So far so good! Now for the "almost" 2 week wait again, lol

I know that the hcg level is not a good indicator for twins, but what do you all think? The word "twins" has been run by me quite a few times now and so it's got me wondering.

To everyone who thought it was twins, well grab a cigar...no grab two, because you were RIGHT!

I'm not sure if I posted what happened to me or not, but I had a bleed which I thought was a partial or full miscarriage. My doctor suspected it could be one the the twins letting go, but there was no way to be certain until the ultrasound was preformed. It must have been my uterus stretching or something.

Since I had problems, they moved the ultrasound from 07-23-10 to a couple days earlier on 07-21-10.

I've been depressed and worried for the babies

Baby A
6w0d
118.97 bpm (beats per minute)

Baby B
6w1d
106.26 bpm

Slow heartbeats for the age?

Thank you all for your support!!

congrats! I also did a day 5 transfer. At 11 days post transfer I had a 370 and then at 13 days it was 636. I had 1 embryo take but unfortunately, mine ended in miscarriage. your numbers seem really strong.  I think twins too. When is your ultrasound?

pol79princess,

I had two embryos transferred on day 5. ICSI for both.

Thank you for your input and for the kind words :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy as well! Even with just one embryo transferred, I think you can end up with twins or more, though. The embryo can split, right? Did you have your first ultrasound yet?

How many embryos did you transfer? My beta 13dp5dt was 399 and that is considered very average for a single pregnancy (I transferred one embryo, so there wasn't even a question of twins). My clinic usually does three betas, though, every 48 hrs. just to make sure they're doubling. Your numbers are growing as they should, so I just wanted to say congrats :)
