DISCHARGE AFTER AN IVF TRANSFER

Is it normal to have slight vaginal discharge 2-3 days after an IVF transfer.  I had my transfer done on Tues 07/31/2007 I was bedridden for 2 days and today I had some vaginal discharge, had anyone ever experienced this and still got pregnant.  I am getting worried and anxious, my first blood test will be on Monday 8/06 and I dont really know what they check for, can anyone help.  My husband and I were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and the doctor seems to be really confident about me, but did anyone know whether or not they were pregnant before the actual pregnancy test 2 weeks after the wait?

I just think I was naive because the only problem we have is male factor and since we had really good embryos the thought never crossed my mind it wouldn't work.  I was just thinking I am okay so this will work. Plus our doctor was (and still is) very optimistic.  Stay positive...this will be a BFP for you.  I am counting on it. :)  I'll be waiting for that post from you.

It was wonderful!   Very well worth it!  She will keep you relaxed and focused.  I wouldn't do it any other way. Really... you are making a great decision.
I try not to think I am naive (even though I am a bit).  I am trying to stay positive as "the Secret" suggests.  We'll know soon enough.

I will be waiting for yow two to post results.  Every time I see a ++++ IVF cycle it makes me feel a little better.  I am nervous this time around.  I went into the first one completely naive to the fact that it might not work so I was completely positive.  My husband keeps saying "No stinkin' thinkin' "

SDteacher-How was the acuncupture treatments before and after the ET?  I decided to go ahead and do it and my acupuncturist is in town labor day weekend so she will be there.

You share the same doctor as SDScientist!  Maybe you've been in the waiting room together?  La Jolla Infertility is also Very good!  Dr. Garzo does all his own u/s as well.  I wouldn't have it any other way.  8-)  SSBD!!!

HI I was thinking of going to Dr. GArzo but I met Lori Arnold with LAJolla IVF she is great as well.  I am really happy with her she does her own ultra sound and is really hands on unlike others whom I tried and consulted with in the past.  She is in the same building as Dr. Garzo she seems to be very confident with my procedure.  She is great.  Thanks for sharing your info.  I wish you well, keep me posted.

I heared from another one of my friend who experienced IVF that their doctor did not tell them to be bed rest for atleast 2 days after the procedure and she got pregnant with twins.  I guess it's just what ever God says.  Its just so scarry because I am even scared to sneeze.  Isnt that funny.  The next 2 weeks will be forever for me.

I think 2-3 days of bedrest is common practice, but I know there are some doctors who do not prescribe it.  There are some recent studies that pregnancy rates in women who go on bedrest are lower than those who resume activity after the transfer, but I am not sure I am buying it quite yet.  My dr and SDteacher's dr are two of the top RE docs in San Diego and they both prescribe it and have success rates in the 50-70%, so I am sticking with what they say.

I went thru my first IVF cycle in May, am now 12wks pg.  I was on bedrest for 3 full days.  I only got up to go to the bathroom and shower.  I know what you mean about not wanting to push yourself, you shouldn't.  You should not lift anything for a while either, your ovaries are still large from all the meds.

lookingup......as for the bedrest, some docs do not require it.   I had read up on IVF before we actually went thru it and its controversial as to whether or not it works.   I would do bedrest if at all possible, I mean, why not, it can't hurt.

Good luck to you both!!  :)

Vsentz, My BETA or PT is on Aug 9th.  I am very excited and anxious!

God Bless, You need to rest today and tomorrow if possible!  SBD to you!!!!

Angel, I only got up to go to pee.  It was so  boring.  I listened to spa like music, watched movies, slept, wrote in my journal.  I tried to lay on my back the whole time but my RE told me it doesn't matter what position you lay in.  My upper back was propped up with pillows to watch TV and stuff.  So you are pregnant right now until proven otherwise!  SSBD!
Oh, and you may feel light cramps or sore feeling in the tummy... this is normal.

looking up, YES! It is very important to bedrest 2 -3 days after your transfer to allow those blastocysts imbed themselves in their new home!  8-)  I can't believe your RE didn't tell you that.  When did you have your transfer?

We are very much in the same boat!  My transfer was Monday 7/30.  I was on bedrest for 3 days.  I have been having a discharge as well.  I think this is normall.  It's clear, right?  I believe it is from all of the progesterone.  Did you have to start vivelle patches?  My first bllod test was supposed to be yesterday (but I spaced it which is very unlike me!) so I just had it done this morning.  They're testing your progesterone level and you may change your cc tonight.  The next blood test after that is your BETA!  Mine is Aug. 9th!  SSBD to you!!!!!!!
