Hi, my wife and I are trying to conceive. My wife has PCOS and a very short luteal phase (~5 days). They prescribed her micronized progesterone suppositories (200mg, bd) during the first trimester.
But we found a few articles indicating prenatal exposure to progesterone may have a significant effect in the baby's long term sexual behavior/development.
Here are the ones we found:
In Humans:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28374065/
In Animals:
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-78976-x
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3652903/
And now we're concerned, we're almost giving up using progesterone.
Is that really the case? Are there other (quality) articles refuting them? What's really the consensus and is it science/evidence based?
Thanks so much.
