Do I have to tell the RE I recently had an abortion

I am a surrogate mother who has completed my family and I am now divorced.  Earlier this year I gave birth to a healthy surrogate daughter and I decided to do the surrogacy again at the end of this year.  In the months in between, I was in a relationship with a guy who abused me and I got pregnant two months after delivering the surrogate child.  I ended the relationship and decided against all my values and Catholic faith to abort the pregnancy.  I was way off on my dates and when I had the procedure done this week, I was told I was 12 1/2 weeks along (the cutting edge of the deadline of 13weeks to have it done).  I am recovering now, but I am also in the works of doing another surrogacy for a wonderful couple.  I have been holding off going into the RE to get my initial screening done with Labs, Ultrasound etc. and I am torn weather to tell him I had this done for fear he will disclose the abortion to the couple who have been trying for years and also for fear he will not approve me to do the surrogacy?  Any help out there will be appreciated as I"m emotionally torn up and truly want to move forward with the surrogacy like I had planned.

I think it is always better to be honest with your doctor, even if it's hard. Normally a doctor cannot disclose your medical history to anyone else without your consent, although maybe you had to waive that right when becoming a surrogate. Since it was so recent it is likely to show up on tests for a while, so they may discover it as Kricket said. It can take a couple months before your body gets back to normal, especially since you were so far along, and that will show up in the labs. Your labs will show up as if you were pregnant until hcg (pregnancy hormone) goes down <5. It is not unusual for this to take 6-8 weeks after a m/c or termination.

I would highly recommend it because something may be discovered when you are having your inital sonograms.
