Does this look like Eptopic? or could the doctors have got it wrong?

Hi. So im on cd 43. I got my BFP on cd33. I had my hcg levels took on cd 34 and they were at 97?
I went for an ultrasound on friday cd42, where i should have been either 5wk 2days or 5wk 5days.
My levels were taken also on that day and they were at 1565. But the u/s showed no sack, they looked everywhere and could not find any sign of masses either. I had an internal exame done and all looked ok.
Becaurse of my levels and no sack, they suspect an eptopic pg?
They say there machine detects pg at levels of 1500.
I go in later to get retested to see if my levels double? if they do then this is good? right?
Can they have made a misstake, that they did not see sack as levels were still alittle low? Do my levels look ok?
Do you think there is a chance of sack appearing? I hear all the time that docs say you have m/c advise them to terminate pg and then at 8-9 wks all is there and ok. But i guess they did at least see the sack?

Your levels look to be going up appropriately.  Seeing any signs of a baby/gest sac is really up to the quality of the machine they are using at this early date.  My doctor said the same thing yours did about seeing something at 1,000 hcg.  I think the next round of blood work will probably give you more answers.  Try to stay positive and not obsess.  There are many women here who have gone through the same thing and all was well.  It sounds like you have read their stories, so try to stay hopeful.  I know it is hard, but your little bean may just be too small to see at this point and need time to catch up.  My thoughts are with you.

O ...thankyou! Thats just what i wanted to hear.
Ive been looking at the hgc levels chart and thought my levels looked ok. Im not an expert, but its not hard to double them every other day, which almost reaches what they were on friday.
I've just got back from the hospital,no one was there to talk too,(sundays eh) but the nurse said it all depends on the bloods today, they should have doubled and be in the 3130 ish?
I should get them back tomorrow afternoon.

thank you. x

hey there i had an eptopic in o6 and my levles never went over 1500 but MOST eptopics dont reach over 1000 so the fact that you are over 1000 and you are having not aches or pains is a really good sign. good luck and keep us posted

With my ectopic, my hcg was doubling every 48 hours, but my progesterone was very low. Once my hcg reached 5000 and a sac was still not seen, I agreed to a D&C and methotrexate. The D&C confirmed the doctor's suspicion that the pregnancy was an ectopic.

Don't wait too long, though. You don't want to compromise your fertility in the future. If I had agreed to the D&C and methotrexate sooner, I may not have had as many adhesions which prevented me from getting pregant again. Only after they were surgically removed was I able to conceive. Worst case scenario is if your fallopian tube ruptures.

Sorry that you're in this situation- the uncertainty is the worst part.

Hi. i am so sorry for your loss.
I thought for sure i would be out of the woods if my numbers doubled.
Can i ask how far pregnant you were when your levels got to 5000? and when you decided to go ahead with the d&c?
Did you fit any of the critra for eptopic? or feel like anything was wrong, any pains, bleeding, temp? and did you still have all your pg symtoms, like nausa, boobs getting heavier?
Sorry for all the questions, but im just wondering, what im looking at. I feel fine, apart from the normal pg symtoms. I know they said that is normal, but when it ruptures, that will be a different story.
I am being mointered for any signs of internal bleeding and all seems to be ok? I thought i would wait for results tomorrow, see what my m/c doc says and go from there, but i will have another scan to confirm first. I was going to wait for my hcg levels to go to 6000+. Thats if im lucky enough to get there?

Hi...can i ask, when did you get to see your little bean? what were your levels at that time? How long did you leave your second scan for? I take it everything went fine after that scare?
I am feeling quite possitive, but i don't know if im clutching at straws. I guess it all depends on todays levels and 2nd u/s.

I think I was a little more than 6 weeks pg. My hcg actually rose to 7700 after the shot, but then started decreasing. Other than some light bleeding early in the pregnancy and my low progesterone, I had no symptoms at all.

I did not have any of the risk factors that sometimes lead to EP's.

I wouldn't wait until your hcg gets to 6000+ if I were you, but I'm basing that on the damage that my EP caused. Although I kept both tubes, it took 4 hours of laproscopy to remove the adhesions outside of my tube and on my ovary.

Thank you for your advise. I will be carefull. I will be speaking to my doc tommorrow (Monday) and see what she thinks is best?My levels should be at 6000 on Tuesday, if all goes well. I don't think they have planned on seeing me untill then anyway? I will be 6wks 3days or 5wks and 6days on that day and if my levels do get that high, then for sure i should at least see the sack. I think it will be then, they will take action...if NO sack is seen.

Thanks x

When I went to the er for bleeding 4 days after gettig a positive hpt, I didn't know how far a long I was, it was a surprise and I was not really keeping up with my periods.  My levels were in the 200's, but the doctor did an u/s before they got the numbers back, and we didn't see anything (which is normal with hcg's in the 200's).  So I never saw my baby and miscarried.  I suspect it didn't develop after about 3 or 4 weeks and my body waited a bit to miscarry.  I have had a couple of friends that had ectopics and the ladies here have given you really good advice.  I really believe your baby is fine, and you will be fine.  Please keep us posted on your results, we are all praying and thinking of you.
