First IUI, now 2ww...anyone else?

Well, I just got back from the doctor after having my first IUI done.  We've been trying ever since a miscarriage in Feb 2008.  PCOS diagnosed just a month ago.  Femara days 3-7.  On day 10 ultrasound I had a 14, 13.5 and two 11 mm follicles (here's to hoping all four released eggs)...did the HCG trigger (Ovidrel) the evening of day 14, and 38 hrs later (today, day 16) the IUI.  Hubby was made to feel like Superman after the Nurse told him she had never seen a post wash sperm count as high as his (104 million!) so hopefully we have a good chance!

So now I am in the 2ww...I was told to take a HPT in 14 days (my RE won't do blood work unless I get a positive HPT, so this forces me to do a home test...ugh).  Anyone else in the same boat right now?

I had 3 mature follicles one over 20 and two right under.  THey said I would most likely have more than one egg. I'll find out on monday how many implanted!

Well I POAS late afternoon & same thing, very faint line, when I got home tonight, after about 4 hours after I POAS I took the two tests apart & I saw no line;(  So I'm guessing that the new 6 days earlier early first response HPT's will give you evap lines, the original NEVER did that, to me anyway;(
Still doing my beta, but pretty sure I'm out;(  Got a MASSIVE headache, & sick to my stomach, which again is bot PMS & pregnancy symptoms......Ughhhhhhhh, this just *****;(
I'm thinking #4 won't be coming in this lifetime........maybe the baby boy I've had so many dreams about is one of the little beans I've MC'd & he'll join our family in the Heavens;)

Good luck to all those still waiting;)

Sending you lots of wishes & hope you get that BFP!!

Bevonian- I hope I am as lucky as you. Scientifically it should work given all the #'s I have....it's up to GOD!!! I am so praying!  What did your follies measure?  I had around 17, 18,19  21

I am wondering if I will have to take progesterone or endometin inserts.  They didnt say anything but I will ask tomrrow.

Sending Baby dust to everyone & hope we all get our wishes this year.

Looks like your IUI went great & all your numbers were great too;)  Yes, I had 2 IUI's I was triggered on a Thursday around 10:00AM, IUI @ 10:00 AM on Friday the next day, & I did have some big follies, 23, 18 & 16 but my RE thought my 26 from the day before had O'd already, & a new one (16) popped up, then went back for IUI #2, @ 11:00 AM Saturday, so 49 hours post trigger, 25 hours post first IUI, & all the follies O'd.  Which I KNEW cuz I had a LOT of O pain from about 9:00PM Friday night til around 7:00 AM Saturday morning.

GOOOOOOD lUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKYYYYYYYYYY ;o)

I go in for my beta tomorrow, not sure what to think, took an early HPT this AM, got a VERY faint line, the ONLY thing that's good I guess is that I never get an evap line on first responses, IDK.....kinda been feeling AFish coming for 2 days, not bad, but it's weird cuz w/all my pregnancies I always felt like I was getting AF, so it's tough to distinguish the two ;-/
Today I'm 12 DPO.................

I liked ur explanation of IUI. I was wondering what kind of cervical mucus problems can one face? is it low CM or something different? are there any tests to do if there is any prob wid the cervicam mucus? I do hv eggwhite cm for about 3 days before i get +ve opk.
IUI: (bypassing the cervix, which overcomes any cervical mucus problems and shortening the journey that the sperm have to make to the egg).

That means that you did not ovulate.  I had the same thing.  THe morningof my first insemination they were still there so I had another one the following day.  12 hours before ovulation and 12 hours after.  It worked!

I had my first IUI today & everything is Great so far so really up to God.
I had great E2, lining 12.5, 4 follies, sperm was around 43 million. This is my first IUI...Question when we did SOno today the follies were still there.  Dr said that is what they plan to get sperm in before hand.  Is that how it was for all of you also? I am having another tomorrow.

Am on 16dpiui, no AF or any other symptoms. This is my fourth IUI. This cycle I have resolved not to test. Will wait for AF or 19dpiui. This cycle I had two follies, but one was very tiny at 13 when IUI was done. Also I had spotting on 5 and 6 dpiui. After my first iui I got AF at 19dpiui because of a cyst. So my fingers are crossed for this cycle. :(

Gave in and took an HPT on Friday before I left for vacation.  Very faint positive.  Took another test Saturday morning and alittle bit darker positive line.  Had bad cramping Sunday. Went for a blood test on Monday morning and it was BFP!  Went back for blood work today to make sure my numbers are doubling.  Didn't ask what my beta was on monday but will get the numbers today.  Won't seem real until I hear the heartbeat hopefully next week!

ita17, hopefully it will be an extra fun cruise for you.  I figured 10dpiui was too soon but at least i know the shot's out of my system.   I'm using early response tests.

jillianporter, I tested at 10dpiui so just like you but mine was neg, I thought the longest the hcg shot lasted was 10 days (on normal tests).   So hopefully it's real!!

What is the longest it has taken any of your trigger shots to leave your system?  I've been testing just to see how long it takes the trigger to leave...today I am 10dpIUI (so 11.5 past trigger) and this morning I could still see a very (very) faint positive on one of the cheapie HPT strips.  I am worried that even if I test for real this Thursday there still may be enough trigger left in my system to produce a false positive.

WAY tooooooooooo early girl!!!!  I never got a BFP before 12DPO w/ANY of my pregnancies!
But I'm sure I'll be doing the same thing! LOL  I took an DPT the new early ones last night & I got a very faint line, but for sure there, BUT that was only 81/2 DP trigger, so most likely thats why!!!  Although 2 other times before I tested daily to see when my trigger was out & one time it was out on 7 DP & another time it was out @ 8DP, but being that this test is ULTRA sensitive, they say it picks up HCG as low as 11, it's most likely that;(

I'll probably test like on Monday, I'll be 10DPO  JUST LIKE YOU;) But my beta is scheduled for Friday morning, hours before we go on our family weekend cruise!  So it could be extra fun, or extra NOT ;)

ita17 that's impressive that it can test such low numbers!  I still haven't given in to the urge to see the "positive" but I really want to especially knowing that seeing yours makes you happy.
Kricket212 that's really awesome that they cover that much, it is a medical problem I think more companies should have coverage as well.  Good luck with your upcoming cycle!
jillianporter I have had moderate to severe cramping since IUI I am currently 5dpiui, I called my doctor and he said it is to be expected and as long as I don't have a fever it's fine.  But I also had ovarian drilling 8 weeks ago and I have bands around my ovaries so  I think that might be contributing to my pain too.  I have been taking tylenol which dulls the pain,  But I try to go without pain meds because my pain comes and goes it only lasts 15 min max, mainly with position changes (sitting to standing), walking too fast, urinating, or anything else that causes my abdomen to twist.  I did some research on other forums and lots of ladies have these pains post iui, they said it's due to the sperm not being spun enough.

I was on 50mg of Clomid day 3-7.  On day 10 my doctor told me that we may need to cancel this cycle because I had too many folicles growing and the chances of having a litter was the way she put it.  On day 12 only 3 were maturing to a decent size.  They were at19, 18 and something else.  They decided to wait one more day so they would grow even bigger which they did.  I am going to try to wait as long as I can to test!

I too am having weird sensations you can say.  Its hard to explain.  Almost like it is irritated inside.  I am also having slight pains near my ovaries.  Not sure if I am having cramping too.  If I am it is very slight. Today I feel extremely bloated.

Okay, so most of us on this thread are around 3dpIUI or more....is anyone else still having mild cramping or twinges down there?   I really only had cramping right after the IUI (Thursday 10:30 am, 38 hrs after the hCG trigger) and it was pretty much gone by Friday am when I woke up.  But I am still having some slight pains that come and go.  They aren't bad by any means, but weird, you know?  Not reading anything into it just wonder if anyone else is having the same thing?

I know it is hard, but I would definitely wait to test until at least 12 dpIUI...this is because the egg can take up to 10 days after fertilization to implant (and the egg has to implant before your body will start producing enough hCG to pick up on a pregnancy test).  Your follies seem huge for day 12 of your cycle...what meds were you using (if any?)  Good luck and let us know what you decide!!!

This is my first IUI cycle.  I was diagnosed with PCOS last month after ttc for 7 months. I started my cycle on 2/10/10.  I had 3 mature follicles 21.5, 20 and 19 on 2/22 so they gave me the Ovidrel shot.  I was inseminated on 2/23 and 2/24.  I am now 5dp the first IUI.  I am already driving myself crazy thinking am I pregnant.  I go in tomorrow for a blood test for progesterone levels and another one next tuesday to test for pregnancy.  The doctor does not want me to test with an HPT prior to the blood test. I don't know if I can hold out.  I really want to test this friday which will be 10dpIUI.  Is it bad karma if I go against doctors orders? Would you test if you were me?
