IUI and Endo

Hello I was wondering if any of you know of anyone getting pregnant with IUI when they have ovarian endometriosis.  I have been TTC for 16 months.  I'm over 2 weeks late but not pregnant, alas just a big cyst.  The joys.  My fertility doctor is recommending I start IUI.  My husbands sperm is fine, but she figures its worth a shot to monitor my cycle and make sure only the best get there.  But do you even release eggs when you have endo?  I know I haven't been trying that long compared to many women, but this longing for a child is just taking my life over and I'm in the middle of planning a baby shower for my sis, whos having her second, oh and it was an accident.  Surrounded by fertile people and babies.  My mother got pregnant the first month with each of her kids.  So I got the bad luck of the genepool draw. I just want a child to hold and love.

I haven't posted in a LONG time, but I saw your post and "had" to comment :)
Anyway, I am very surprised that your dr is suggesting IUI with end.  My dr is adivising me to stop IUI's until I have a laporoscopy to see if I have endometriosis.  From what he said and what I have read, it can be a cause of infertility.  Why isn't your dr suggesting a lap to get rid of the endo????

My doctor is thinking of it, shes not positive i have endo she needs to wait on result from radiologist, she said I have either polycystic ovaries or endo.  Jan-sept last year i was every 28 days.  And from then on Ive had wonky periods and cysts showing up in my ovaries.  So now they are thinking endo and if the cysts are big enough might remove them through my bellybutton.  But she said I might as well start on IUI while shes doing all the testing.  SHe says it can't hurt to try.  Ive had dye test and blood test and sperm tests done.  All came back good.  Treatments for allergy problem that could effect fertility.  But she wants to do a ultrasound on day 3 of my cycle when it ever starts 17 days late. And thyroid test and another blood test.  It is about 400 a month though so if its a useless cause its a waste of money, but I can't afford IVF right now.  7-10000 a month with no guarantees.  Yikes.  I plan to save up for it though at least one cycle of it.  I don't know it seemed like it might work to me cause, you get only the strongest sperm, its put right where it needs to be when it needs to be there, and she said she'll give me shots if i dont ovulate to tell my body to ovulate.  But this seems like it might cause more cysts.  Argh I don't know maybe i should just get in line for IVF and put up with debt that follows.  Once I find out if my uterus can carry a baby.

Well, I don't think you should be thinkning of IVF yet.  I woudl try the laporoscopy and then try a few IUI's before going ahead with IVF.  None of this is covered by my ins. either, so I felt that I was just throwing money away with the IUI's not knowing if I had endo.

Do you know much about endo?  I've just been told I might have it this week.  Do you release any eggs with ovarian endo?  I know there isn't a cure, but what are the odds of getting pregnant naturally?  I know a lady whose been trying 3 years and had cysts removed with still no luck.  Its amazing the happy little bubble we can live in growing up.  My family are all fertile rabbits, so I always thought I'd have no problem and one drop of sperm or one day without protection and I'd be pregnant.  I wish I'd been warned earlier I would've paid closer attention to my cycles etc.
