do his medical records reflect whether or not he had the vasectomy? I would think that if it was done correctly, there would be no sperm noticeable in his ejaculate given the fact that the vas deferens are supposed to be severed.
Is there an ultra-sound that can be done to determine whether in fact the vasectomy was performed? And I agree with the above poster, a semen analysis is a good idea as well.
As for your cycle...I would suggest going to a Reproductive Endocrinologist sooner rather than later. Why waste time if you know you want to conceive? I hadn't even started TTC when I went to one for my irregular cycles (late ovulation and short luteal phase which I noticed after charting for a few months). The RE had no problem treating me right away. I am not being treated as a fertility patient quite yet (that requires a year of trying) but, for all intents and purposes, the treatment is the same (but is coded for insurance as ovulation dysfunction). I am on my 5th round of clomid. So, I'd advise going to tackle your irregular menses and that should also help in regard to getting pregnant.
Good luck!
Is it possible for your husband to get a semen analysis done? That way you would at least know if he has sperm in his semen.
