Faint line on OPK

Hi all!

Only been trying to conceive for 2 months and been testing with OPKs for the last 3 days (if I've timed it right with BBT charting etc) as I think I am due to ovulate soon. Ive had negative results (no line whatsoever) for the first 2 days but today had a clear visible line but fainter than control line. I know this is a negative but would this indicate I will be ovulating soon?

Xx

I've got the strip ones like yours and also some poas ones! The strip ones are used by the Hospitals here in the uk so hope they would be pretty reliable!! I did another one last night (just to check! Ha ha!) and the line was much lighter than the one 10 hours before. Im going to do another one in an hour so will see what happens!!! X

I know, the first month I used them I HATED them, swore I wasn't going to use them the next month because I wasn't used to them, this is my second month using them, I have used them consistently and I love them this month! You will know when you get a positive, there will be no guessing about it, (look at my pictures, I posted a picture of a positive).  Has your line been getting darker? Mine got darker and darker for about 3 days, then turned positive. Line OPK's can also do the "stair step" to positive, where one day the test line is dark, but not positive, then the next day it's barely there, then the next day it could be positive! What brand do you use? If you want to really just test them out for the month and see how it goes, go to amazon and search Wondfos Ovulation Kits. I bought a 25 pack for $10, but you can get like a 50 pack for $20, that way you can test twice a day throughout your whole cycle and you know you won't miss your surge!

I don't have a problem with the double lined ones, because my LH is usually so high I get a solid positive, way darker than the control line and comes up within seconds, so whatever works best for you!

Thanks girls. I think I might bite the bullet and buy some smiley face ones!! It's just too infuriating trying to compare lines!!

I got so aggravated trying to use those so I just went and bought the one that has a circle of a smiley face. Circle means no ovulation smiley face means ovulation. They are more expensive than the other ones but there is no doubt when you ovulate which is so worth it to me!

Mine do a fade in pattern as well, where every day they get gradually darker. I don't know if yours is the same as mine, but my test line will match the control line and it still means I'm not yet ovulating, my line gets way way darker than the control line. But anytime you see 2 lines, baby dance, and then when you get a clear positive make sure you baby dance for a few days after it!! Good luck!!
