Fertility and elevated FSH / LH

HEllo,

I recent had some lab work run to investigate auto-immune illness. Two tests run were my FSH and LH hormones. They were both elevated. The FSH  is 160.1 and the LH is 103.2. This was exceedingly passed the lab ranges. The FSH appears to be in the Post Menopausal range.

I am 35 years old. I have not had a period since november.

My Questions is: Does this mean that i have lost my chance/ability to get pregnant? Is my body no longer producing eggs? Or can my situation change?

for full disclosure, i do have positive ANA and was just diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome.

I appreciate your help. I am a bit worried as i have not had children yet and fear i have not lost my chance.

Thank you so much for your helo.

i also think you should look up how to lower high fsh levels on google. there is a lot of web sites that tell you what to eat, drink and do to lower your fsh levels. my suggestion is to try that for at least one or two months faithfully and then go get your levels checked by a fertility specialist. good luck to you!

thank you both so much for answering. yes, those numbers are the real numbers..that is what scared me most..how much higher they were in the reference range. i think i need to talk to an endocrinologist or ob/gyn and see if, even those these numbers are this high, can they come back down and get my period back..

thanks for your support :)

Are you sure your ANA wasn't 1:160? You should definitely talk to a specialist. I am also positive for ANA's and my RE said it could cause miscarriage. Good luck!

Are you sure your FSH was 160?!   I strongly suggest that you go to a fertility clinic (if you haven't done so already) to get a specialist opinion. To be honest with you, I have never heard of FSH level that high... I know anything over ten is an issue, and I have heard of women conceiving with levels as high as 15-17, but not over a hundred :(  I don't know if the Sjogrens Syndrome has anything to do with it, but there are some meds available that are supposed to help reduce your FSH.

You may not be ready to hear that, but using donor eggs has worked out for a lot of women in those type of situations. Again, check with a specialist and best of luck!
