Beta didn't double!! Freaking out!!

Ok--so we just have our first BFP in a year and a half of trying.  We had three failed cycles with Clomid, one failed with Clomid/IUI, one failed with Follistim/IUI, and then finally a positive on follistim/IUI.  I'm on progesterone suppositories-yuck.  So my third beta was 3130 @ 25 dpo.  My 4th only went to 4200 @ 28 dpo.  I knew I was in trouble when the nurse practitioner called and not a nurse.  She asked if I was having bleeding or problems--NO.  Well, this is cause for concern and I need to come Monday instead of Wed. for u/s.  What the heck?  This is pretty much the worst weekend I've ever had.  I wish she hadn't told me anything.  So are we screwed?  Is this pregnancy not viable?  She refused to give us any valuable info besides scaring the hell out of us.  Please help!  Waiting til mon. is killing me!

Good news!
We went back for a second ultrasound this week and we actually got to hear the heartbeat!  It came in a at a strong 147 bpm, and the embryo/fetus grew to half an inch--right on schedule!  We go for one more next week and if all goes well we will be released to our regular ob/gyn.  Thanks for all of the well-wishes.  Just wanted to keep you updated!

Had the ultrasound this morning--there was a heartbeat!!!  I know we're not out of the woods yet, but the doctor says everything looks perfect and he is happy and that we can be optimistic.  The embryo and yolk sac measure perfectly for six weeks, not too small or anything.  The nurse apologized profusely for how things were left on Friday--she said the one nurse practitioner isn't great with giving possible bad news.  She gave me a hug after the ultrasound and told me to stay calm--my blood pressure was through the roof.  I feel so much better.  Thank you so much for all of your kind words--they were so helpful in a time of stress.  I have another ultrasound next Wed.  And no more blood work--doctor said it was no longer a good indicator, but a major stress inducer--I can vouch for that!  Thank you all again and I'll keep you updated.

Thanks for the words of encouragment.  I'm pretty much trying to prepare myself that is over, but we'll wait until tomorrow to know for sure.  The magic number seems to be 66%, but with this last test it only went up 30%.  I really hope that we fall into that 15-20% with abnormal hcg but healthy pregnancies!  Best wishes for the other commenters--I'll update tomorrow!

I'm so sorry you're having such a stressful weekend. I can totally imagine being in your shoes... I agree that stress isn't good for your little one, so do what you can to put your mind in a positive place. I know it's difficult... I don't think you should worry just because your beta didn't double. Mine didn't either. I only had two. The first was 248 & the second was 420. I was expecting it to be over 500, but it was perfectly okay & I'm now 9 weeks pregnant with twins! So, take it easy & best wishes for your u/s tomorrow :)

Those still sound like really good numbers and they are increasing. I read that as long as it increase 66% that it is adequate. But once your numbers get over 1200 they increase at a slower rate and it takes longer to double. I am going through the same thing. My hcg isn't doubling either so they are having me come in every other day to be cautious. Be positive and good luck.

Don't worry yet!! If there is no bleeding, then there is still a pregnancy and that is ALWAYS good news. Some women just take a little longer in developing the hormones. Maybe you implanted later then they think? Dont worry.... worry will only stress your MIRACLE out and we dont want that! Stay calm, and just thank the Lord for the little one growing inside of you who is HEALTHY and striving.!! Don't get down... not yet.
