I am in Distress Please Reply

Hi,
I had an IVF and a day after blastocyst transfer, i have started with frequent urination along with mild fever. It seems like a UTI and the doc has advised antibiotics. Would this effect the embryo implantation.

thank you sasparilla,
i had the blastocysts transfered so it was also 3dt. As for the implantation, i really really hope it for implantation. Last time i had blastocysts transfered i had one implantation and it went till 16 weeks when the fetal heart beat suddenly stopped. I am hoping this time i can go the way ...

My RE also prescribed antibiotics, so I really don't think it should be an issue.  When was your tansfer?  I ask this b/c I had a mild fever (night sweats) and peed a ton for 3 days in a row.. it was like 5-8Days past 3DT  turns out it was all from implantation.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a sticky bean but it certainly wasn't from the fever, etc.. It was more of a "non viable" embryo thing.
I hope thats what it is for you!!!! Sticky vibes your way!

I know that my RE always prescribes antibiotics with an IVF to ward off the chance of getting an infection.

Unfortunately, there are no clear answers about how things like antibiotics affect implantation.  But you don't want your body under any undue stress, like a UTI!  Try to relax and remember that what will be will be and it's out of your hands now! :)

Be good to yourself!  Good luck and SSBD!

The best thing to do here is consult your re that did the procedure.  I really have no advice to give other than that - I hope everything turns out well & you get your UTI cleared up in no time - SSBD!!
