HPT BFP, Now waiting for Beta (2nd IVF)

Hello all, glad to see there are others going through the same thing.

I'm 41 and 8dpt for 2 -5dt. First 5 days I had all the PMS Symtoms, and on day 5 had one episode of pink when I went to tinkle. The cramping has lightened up but I have a strong sense of smell, tire easily, and slightly lightheaded at times. My Dr. told me 48 hours of BR, but I'm going easy until I have my 1st Beta tomorrow.

Yesterday was a tough wait, so I bought I HPT that I took very early this morning. To my surprise it was BFP! I felt silly because at first I thought it was negative, while i'm staring at the two lines that represent BFP! The 2nd line appeared rather quickly, has anyone followed that up with a positive Beta?

Sorry for the loss! Not only your DH, you are also looking forward for a baby, dont just fee bad for him, you are going through so much physically, emotionally, and its nothing in your hands or in your control to change the situation. as the problem just with the egg quality, am sure donor clicks, dont get pessimistic about it now, first of all you heal better, both of you spend some time together, and then get ready for the donor cycle, good luck.

Hi Tracy, beta was less than 2 - negative. I was very devasted and am persuading my DH to use donor eggs. There are days where I feel so bad for my DH...I know he loves kids and wished he had married someone else. I am going in for a post consultation this Friday and will see what the RE has to say. Ist IVF i transferred 2 embies on Day 3 (8 cell and 6 cell) both of great quality but it didn't take. 2nd IVF i transferred one blast and one morula both of great quality on Day 5 and again didn't take. So, I am at a loss....what if I use donor eggs and it doesn't take either?

Congrats again and please keep us posted on your journey....

Hi Jenny, sorry for the late response. How did your Beta turn out? I have two grown healthy children and this is my 2nd husband that we're having twins. My egg quality was not good after all these years so with funds limited I had to decide it would be best to use a donor. It has been great experience, I feel better because I feel that even if we would have retrieved one good egg of mine, there were just too many other things I worried about like down syndrome, so just knowing that this is my husbands DNA and my blood running through this child makes me feel it is 100 ours. It's the journey of raising a child and the love that child gives in return that creates the bond that is unbreakable. Hope all is well, have faith.

Hope everyone is doing good. Today my husband and I went for our 2nd ultrasound and were able to listen to two heart beats first baby 158, second baby 153. Dr. put us at 7 wks 2 days. He said everything looks perfect and now we can move on to a regular OBGYN. My husband can hardly believe it, he wants to share the news but I told him I wanted to wait. I feel good, just my nose is sensitive and I get quezzy but have not thrown up and my breast look like they grew a cup size and i've gained 3 lbs since starting IVF 7 wks ago.

Funny part is my in-laws have been telling my husband for years how they want grandchildren from him, which I always thought was not nice considering they know we want them, just unable to have them. But we do not share the details of what is preventing us, because thats our business. Well they called 2 wks ago to say his younger brother's new wife of 3 mths is pregnant and said maybe we too would have children someday. I always thought this was rude.  Because I have an older brother and my parents would never said anything about him not having kids knowing his wife cant. Anyways, we have this secrete and I'm not inclined to share it with his parents, I think I will let them go on and on about their other son's wife who lives near them, then maybe when I'm 7 or 8 mths let them we're having twins.

Congratulations!! I am also turning 41 this summer and tomorrow is my beta test - 2nd ivf cycle. I've never been pregnant  ...my DH and I got married very late in life and he's goanna be 44. I want to try donor eggs if I am tested negative tomorrow. I don't feel good....getting the cramps, weight gain, puffy face and bloatedness exactly like how I would feel right before my AF shows up.

I wanted to find out from you if you have any kids ....I don't and I am worried that even donor eggs may not work for me? Looking at adoption too.....

Thank you for sharing.

Hello, its been a little while since I've posted. Thought I would share. This mornig I went for my ultra sound and got to see two little sacks with two little babies inside and what appeared to be the beginning of their cardiac contractions. Dr. was very pleased and made me feel so good about it all. I want to share his name incase anyone in Phoenix area is looking for a doctor who really cares about what he does. Dr. Nathaniel Zoneraich. Can't say enough good things about him and his staff. He put me at 5 wks 6 days. I thought it was twins because my belly has grown enough where everychance I get i unbotton my top jean button and have gained 1 1/2 lbs over the past 5 weeks. Hope everyone is doing great and pregnant!

Congradulations! You are so pregnant!! :)

I still feel slight cramping from time to time and last night had light pink spotting when I tickled. I believe the egg(s) is still securing itself good in there. I recall my nurse telling me that could be expected and is normal. To be safe I'm taking it easy until I get my U/S.

Baby Dust To All

This morning I had my 2nd Beta 12dpt and it came back 20129! The first was 494  9dpt. So I go back Wed for my 3rd Beta. God please keep this going strong. I think I'm going to have twins because the 2 embryos were the best quality. Most likely I will have my 1st US next week.

I just want to say to everyone going through the same waiting period, to meditate about your baby(s) throughout the day, pray for angels to guide them and for God Blessing overall. Eat the best foods you can and drink lots of water! Allow yourself to take it easy!! Keep your mind busy thinking healthy thoughts. We've come this far!
