Have more intercourse? Ask doc to check me? Or go ferlitityappt?

Am I crazy? I am pushing 30 I have never been pregnant but I desire to have atleast 1 kid. The thing that has me concerned is that I have NO children at my age it's really rare because most people of my age, color have 3,4 5 kids and I don't have 1 so I think I can't have any. Yes I have tried to become pregnant but not like most couples, well just say this I have never tried for a year to become pregnant. I have a appt. on the 29th of Jan. to see a fertility but I have never had any of the basic test performed to even determine if I can or can't do you think I should go to my reg. doc 1st and tell her my concerns or go to the Fertility appt. Or better yet have more sex I don't know what to do you got any answers?

I think you should see your OB first... he can do initial blood work and tests and then you can go from there... good luck!

It is not as rare as you think. You are still young. Talk to your OB/GYN. Good luck.

I went to and OBGYN who gave me a pap test I did voice my concerns about pregancy but she wanted me to have a ultrasound performed. I noticed a small cyst on left ovary it dissloved on it's own the 1st time. They say it's normal during child bearing years, have you ever kown for cyst to prevent pregnancy?

What type of test? I am going to call for and appt 1st thing in the morning. I really don't have a idea on what I need to do or better yet what I'm doing period. I just want to be tested to determine if everything is good, that way I can put my mind at ease.

Thanks so much I know that I'm still young but I must admit apart of me is feeling like the clock is ticking away. But mostly tired of wondering if I'll ever be a mom..

Nytasha - are you aware of when you are ovulating,  and do you try to have sex at that time?  Sometimes it can take a LOT of months in a row of having sex exactly during your fertile time.  I get the sense from reading your post that you may not have tried enough months,  or maybe aren't charting your ovulation cycles.

If you want to learn about how to predict your cycles,  you can look up "Billings Mucus Method" on the internet and get great information for predicting when you are fertile.

I know it doesn't help any to tell you that you are still young. It is difficult at any age to ttc and run into the frustrations that can come along with it. I do not know much about cysts, so I cannot speak to them. However I have known women to ttc with them. Don't give up hope.

I'm 38, and I can just hear my clock ticking away... my poor DH ;)

Keep us posted!

No I don't I know when my cycle is going to arrive and I'm always correct on it, but I don't know when I ovulate. I thought about purchasing a ovulation kit to tell me.

That would definitely be the first step - learning when you ovulate,  and plan to have sex then.  It may be by the luck of the timing you've just never hit your ovulation time right.

Your right, I need to know when I ovulate and have sex around those days it's hard though I just wish I could become pregnant without all the other thigs that come with knowing how and when to become pregnant. I still wonder about the cyst found on my left ovary my doc says it's common and is a sign of ovulation but I still wonder if this has prevented me from becoming pregnant.

I agree- invest in some OPK's and maybe a book. Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler is a great one. And I'm sorry, but when I was 30 (a mere 4 years ago), some of my friends had one child, but that was it! Since then, several have had two, but to think that at 30 your clock is ticking is ridiculous!
