Cervical Polyp linked to infertility?

What is the connection between cervical polyps and infertility?  I have been dealing with infertility for over a year now.  My doctor was out of town this week so another doctor in the same office did a scheduled endometrial biopsy on me.  (Ouch!).  Before the Doctor got started, she said, "Wow!  You have a very large cervical polyp (about 1/2-3/4") at the opening to your cervix.  I am surprised Dr. So-in-so didn't see it."   WTF!!!!!  If this is the cause for all of our trouble, I am going to be totally upset.  Actually, I already am that this wasn't caught before.

I am doing IVF & had to have one removed last year prior to starting.  It has yet to grow back & hope it stays that way.

Dear Des _a_rae,

You are so kind.  I am sorry to hear you are going through the same thing but, it was comforting to know I am not the only one.  Thanks for the good luck!  Best of luck to you too!  I will say a little prayer for you and your family!

Hey there!  So sorry you're going through this but I hope you take comfort in knowing you're not the only one and hopefully I can help. :)  I WAS in that same boat you are in now.  I had a polyp in the middle of my cervix. What this does it is keeps the egg from implanting.  Either being IN the way or possibly causing a miscarriage because it doesnt' have room to grow.  I have been dealing with infertility as well and I just had laparoscopy for Endometriosis and they removed a cyst on my fallopian tube(which they didn't know I had until they got in there) and I also had a hysteroscopy for the polyp (which they also didn't know I had).  It really makes me angry as well that no one found this or even thought about looking for this sooner.  I've been trying for a little over 6 yrs now.  It's been almost 3 months since my surgery and I'm praying that after having all the removed I can hopefully conceive on my own! :)  If you need to talk or ask more questions please feel free too!  I certainly hope this helps you and also helps you conceive! :D  Good Luck! :)
