VERY DISHEARTENED.. :-(

Hello everyone,
I to am new to this forum n need some info.  I was diagnosed wt fibroids 10 yrs ago. Had a myomectomy in 5/01. fibroids returned n had a myomectomy again in 2/10. My RE did an SHG in 9/10 n found another fibroid. Did a Lap. for fibroid n scar tissue removal in Nov. I was told I have significant scar tissue around both my ovaries (which they cant see n is out of position) n also my lining was poor n looked "fibrous".they wont do ivf if the lining is not optimal. They didnt measure my lining but put me on estrace (2mg 2x a day beginning on day 1 of my MC) to "improve the lining". He's not optimistic tho. Any opinions?? Im very disheartened. Thanks alot

Hi!
I went for sugery with Dr. March on Jan 17th.
I did have some scar tissue, which he removed, and the fundus area looks great too.  The spetum had been removed with 2nd surgery(although he used a small amount of electricity, which is a HUGE no no), so I just had the scarring removed.  About 20% of my uterus was scarred, including a small band by my right tube.  he put in a stent (shaped like a triangle, to prevent uterus from scarring again) for 21 days.  I had that removed Feb 7th.
I am on Estrace for 60 days, to help the lining to grow back healthy, so March 17th, and I will start progesterone on March 12th to jump start a period.  I will have a HSG to make sure no scarring has returned 2 weeks after my period starts.
Dr March was FABULOUS!  I cannot say enough about him. He is the Best!
He is 100% sure I will be able to concieve and carry a baby to term (this after I was told I might need a surrogant by another RE).
I would RUN not walk to 1 of these doctors!!!!  Girl, your scarring doesn't sound extensive!  You CAN be helped IF you go to the RIGHT doctor that specializes in ASHERMANS!  I promise you, it will make the difference!  You can make things worse by going to the wrong doctor (my RE using electric, after I told him I didn't want him too, is a great example), it really does matter!

If you are interested in seeing some Amazing success stories, and getting a ton of information/support, you can join Ashermans. org  (no space, but didn't want MH to block the web address).  There are several ladies on there that have been told they would never have a child, then they went to an Asherman's specialist, and they are either ttc right now, or are pregant, or just given birth!!!

Well, the only piece of advice I can give you on that is, go to a excellent doctor.  Do not be like me and just go to your RE/doctor.  Go to someone that specializes in uterus's.  I know that sounds silly, but here's how I explained it to my husband. My obgyn specializes in paps and delivering babies, my RE specializes in getting people pregnant and dabbles in "fixing" uteruses, and the doctors above specialize in uteruses and dabble in fertility... if that makes sense?  Please, don't be like me and waste surgeries, time on the wrong doctor... get yourself into the best possible care, and get your issue resolved quickly.

There are 2 doctors in New York that specialize in Uterine issues... these are doctors that ladies come from all over the united states to see... their names are...

Dr Alan Copperman
Office Consult
Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York
635 Madison Ave
10th Floor
NY, NY 10022

And...

Dr Steven Palter

Office
Reproductive Medicine & Surgery Center
243 Jericho Turnpike
Syosset NY 11791

There is another Doctor in CA named Dr. Charles March.   I am actually traveling from OH to have surgery with him in January for a septum uterus.
My current RE mentioned me needing a "surrogant" and I'll be danged if I'm going down without a fight!  Dr. March received my records and said he is confident he can "fix" my problem and I will have a Wonderful chance at conceiving...

Please let me know what you decide.  if you want the Doc's phone #'s, let me know.  I would have encluded them but Med Help would have removed them from the post.  I will have to message them to you.

Good Luck and Keep in Touch!!
