HSG procedure

Has anyone had to go for the HSG test before? I am going next week and am nervous my endometriosis has returned and is effecting my fertility. I hope not! Would love to hear from others who have had this done. I have my second pelvic ultrasound next week too. Not looking forward to that either :-/

Mine wasn't so bad.  They needed to have me hold my legs up and shift around a lot to get things in proper position, so that was kind of funny.  It was not painful for me, just a bit awkward to be bare bottomed and wiggling around on the table with nurses and students in the room.

it was miserable. i was crying and shaking through the whole thing and found it to be horribly painful. they had a really tough time passing through my cervix. now just waiting on results, but they did tell me during my tubes look good. so that is hopeful! thanks for the response :)

Hi Melissa

The HSG is a basic test to check to make sure tubes are clear. Some ladies say it is painful and some say it's not so bad. Personally I've had it done a couple times and have only experienced some cramping. You can ask your doctor if it's ok to take something like Advil 30-45 min before the test. I hope you get thru it without pain. It will give your doctor some vital info about how well your tubes are functioning.
Best of luck!
