HSG test?

Hello All,

Here is the update from y'day. I went for review with my doctor and she said that she wld prefer continuing with Clomid, since she said that injection often tend to overstimulate the ovaries(especially for women with PCOS.

Secondly she said that she wld perform the HSG test on me, to make sure that fallopian tubes were open.

Can please someone tell me what this test is? And is it painful?

This time also she wants me to use the HCG(0vidruel) injection.

So, in short back to using Clomid 100mg, continuing with Metmorphin(150mg)...and then HCG injection and IUI and then the two week wait period.

This is so emotionally draining. But I still want to keep my emotions in check(which is very hard right now)

Also, she suggested the accupenture. Do you guys think that accupenture helps/aids in getting pregnant?

Please share your thoughts.

Thanks.

I just had an HSG test today and I took an Aleve one hour before so I didn't feel anything during the injection of the dye however the insertion of the catheter causes a sharp pain. Also the past five hours have literally involved me laying in fetal position crying from awful pain through my entire abdomen and I have had three major surgeries so I have a high tolerance for pain. My advice take Aleve continuously for the 12 hours following the procedure!

I am supposed to have the hsg this morning, but the doctor decided to stop the procedure. I was totally in pain. It was beyond compare to the cramps. :( i was looking forward for the procedure to end and then i have to do it again next month. Anybody can give me a tip how to make this procedure bearable. I really really want to be a mom

I had the HSG exam performed this morning.  I took 2 Advil pills one hour prior to the HSG exam, and it wasn't too bad.  Minor cramping began when the dye was being injected, but stopped about a minute afterwards.  The procedure lasts less than 5 minutes, and I think the fear of the exam was far worse than the actual procedure.  Afterwards, I went out to eat and went back to work.

I had my HSG 2 days ago and I thought I would die of pain. I did not feel much when whatever was inserted  LOL. Then the end of the uterus pained like hell for some sec and once the die was shot it was like lightning. And then the real PAIN started a few minutes after the test. I think it was like labour pain. I could feel severe contraction pains that radiated all over m back and front. I did get all clear though.

BOY! It was hell for 3 hours and I was given a painkiller and TT beforehand. Again I took a painkiller tab and asked for an inj. I ended up at home with ahot water bag and in tears. If labour is going to be so horrible then no way I was going for it without Epiduril.
