Knowing your ovulation day

Is the only way to really know the day you ovulated to track your temps?
I have an exact 28 day cycle. I detected my ovulation surge with an OKP the the 13th day....assumed ovulation on the 1th day..then AF started again 14 days later, so it seems pretty textbook. But it's still possible I did not ovulate on that 14th day right?

DH was asking me about when my next ovulation was and I told him well we know a small window of time but the only way to really know for sure when is to take my temp every morning. Since this is really only our 2nd time TTC since my miscarriage I'm not sure we are at the tracking temps point yet.

I used the online site mymonthlycycles.com to help me keep track of things. If your period is off one month it combines information and gives your average cycle length followed with an estimated ovulation date calculated by the info you provide. OPK's didn't work for me(I couldn't take the..is that a positive or what? question everyday) so that's the route I took and it took 4 cycles for me to conceive off birth control pills. Some of the other ladies use fertility friend( I didn't cuz I couldn't commit to temping(lol)) Anywho, GOOOD LUCK to ya!

To truly know when you o you need to temp yes.  As there is an increase in temp after o has occured.  OPK are good but only tell you weh nthe surge is detected and it can take place 24-26 hrs after that (as long as you tested as soon as you surged.
