Wish me luck

I go to DR tomorrow and I'm so nervous.  I'm gonna see what my beta was last time and I'M SURE THINGS ARE LOOKING MUCH BETTER THIS TIME  **positive thinking**  I know it is probably too early to even notice any issues.  How do you guys get your DR to keep checkin your beta?  How early do you think I should request an U/S?  I say 7 weeks DH say 8+ weeks last time U/s was 10 weeks and no heartbeat...Dr said measure was only 7 1/2 weeks Thanks for all the supprt and well wishes ((Sheila))

I wish you the best of luck, and I will be praying for you a positive result.  For me, I asked for an u/s at 5 weeks, and they did it.  But, after they started doing the u/s's they stopped drawing my blood for HCG.  They told me the u/s gave them more information than a blood test would.

BEST OF LUCK..............

How far along are you?  They did an u/s last Friday on me at 6w4d and we got to see and hear both heartbeats.  I was so nervous until we did that (well, actually I'm still nervous since it's twins) but it really eased my mind being able to see for myself. The tech told me they can detect heartbeats by 6w2d so I'd insist on getting one as soon as you can.

Good luck with everything!  Sending you lots of prayers!

I had my beta checked at 15 dpo to confirm and 17 was doubled to something like 800ish. They would not sched 1st u/s until 8 wks. At 1st I was p.o.'d After reading so many scary posts at 5/6wks I am so glad. They prepared me mentally for u/s(Iwas 40)that may not even be hb, etc. Then, OMG!! There he was! Moving, heart beating, normal size, all so incredibly amazing!!!! I am glad it was 8wks. I went home relieved and excited, it was for real! I wouldn't want to spend a wk or two waiting after not "seeing" the hb or bean. I truly think later is better. Unless, of course there is a reason for earlier. Have I told you today how THRILLED I am 4 U???  :)

I'd ask that they check beta at least twice to make sure they are good and increasing at the correct rate.  I'd also ask for an u/s soon after 6 wks.  If they seem reluctant, remind them of your last pg and see if that changes their mind. Best of luck to you..  Big congrats!!

Tina I'm wellin up.  Your time is coming ..and soon I just know it.

Willsmom- I'm 4 weeks 1 day :O) Congrats again on the twins I hope to join the club :O)

DH agrees with most of you the later the better and of course If there was nothing at6 or 7 weeks I would BE CRAZY by week 8.  I'm definately gonna have them check my beta levels at least 2 times.,  I guess I'll see what the DR says.  Thanks again for all the well wishes you gals are the best

Hi Sheila!

My OB, who is very proactive, did my beta twice, once at the very beginning (2 weeks pg) and once the very next week. I had my  first U/S at 6 weeks which my OB admitted was really too early and that she goofed. I had a 2nd U/S at 7 weeks and I could see my little bean and see the heartbeat. Actually, we saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks and just the sac. I also was told no more betas were necessary since the U/S were looking good.

I can't wait to hear about YOUR U/S!

Are you hoping for twins? Yikes!

((Sue))
