It's been over two years so, you've consulted a doctor? You've been charting (your body temperature) to pin down your fertile periods? He's been refraining a fair bit (from sex, from masturbating) outside those periods so that he's more virile during your fertile periods?
Then, perhaps it's time for him to have a checkup for his semen quantity / vitality. Sad to hear about your miscarriage. My mom had two miscarriages, learned she needed to be bedridden during her first trimester and then had three babies -- these days I'd expect there must be a med to reduce any need to have become bedridden.
Hi! Yes, local GP, gynecologist, fertility specialist, seen them all. My partner has also been tested, twice! Sperm count very good & active. I have irregular periods so PCOS was one of the answers to my problems, however they can't confirm it as I don't fit the criteria or norm bracket (The average person to have PCOS is hairy, spotty, over weight etc). Fortunately, I am slim, not hairy, spotty, keep in shape, eat well, no drugs etc. I've been prescribed Chlomide, as they just have no idea why I'm not conceiving. But I would love to try natural just one more time before having to rely on a man-made drug.
Yes, temperature charts, ovulation tests, charts, apps, pre-natal vitamins, folic acid, sex only on ovulation days, no masturbating - The whole lot.
Thank you for your kind words. I had the miscarriage 4 months ago, at 5/6 weeks pregnant. Completely broke my heart as well as mess up my cycle & body as I had a terrible experience with it. Had a relaxing holiday & some time to ourselves to come to terms with the loss. And we're ready to try again.
Hmm, pardon my asking but, just how slim? (height/weight, and do you know your body fat percentage? a key figure)
"Twelve percent or more of infertile couples have deviations from their ideal body weight as the cause of their infertility. If a woman’s body weight is less than 95% of predicted ideal body weight or greater than 120% of predicted ideal body weight, then appropriate weight gain or weight loss should be the primary therapeutic recommendation." (asrm.org)
The doctor told me my weight was ideal of my age / height. I'm 5foot5 (or 5foot4) weight just under 9 stone. Unfortunately I don't know my BMI, but as you can see in my picture I'm honestly not big. (Except when I'm having a down day & feel like the biggest person on earth, haha)
I found out there are 14 pounds to a stone, so your BMI's 21, within the normal range. However, muscle tone or gross lack of it, can make BMI meaningless.
Do you exercise quite a bit to keep that slim figure and weight? You may may need to cut back on that a fair bit. Body fat percentage is a far more useful a figure, (a lot of pharmacies have not only BP machines but conductance based fat measuring gadgets which provide rough (+/- 2% or so?) but useful results, you also input your age, gender, height, weight). You want to be somewhat over 20% body fat (I suggest aiming for something like 25%). You may already be there or close enough, it would be useful to confirm this though.
As to (maybe) PCOS. "However, women with PCOS may require additional treatment to get pregnant, including medications to decrease insulin resistance. These women should seek the assistance of a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist." (same source)
Hi, please excuse me for my overly late reply. I've had a very bust time with refurbishing the house amongst other things.
On the 5th of Nov, 2015, my 23rd birthday. I was formerly diagnosed with PCOS. I still, do not fit the norm / criteria. Still slim / average weight for my height. Not hairy or spotty but have other symptoms, I.e very irregular periods, hair loss / hair thinning, fatigue, mood swings etc. However I eat more healthily, work out more & have started Chlomide. Completed my first round in December just gone. No sign of pregnancy as of yet. Just impatiently waiting for my period to start the Chlomide again. Have you got any other information to help? Thanks x
