Anyone use HCG shots to get pregnant?

I have been TTC for going on 3 months now! I started out taking Clomid 50mg then 100mg then 150mg and wasnt ovulating at all... Finally my doctor started me on Metformin 2x a day 500mg and Clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle... Last month I found out I ovulated for the first time, but didnt get pregnant. This month I ovulated agian but he gave me an HCG shot (Profasi)  to make me force ovulate within 24 hours!
I really didnt get to ask him a lot about the medicine when he gave it to me, so I am looking for information on how long the symptoms last and if it really makes a difference in getting pregnant... If you have any expierance with this it is greatly appriciated!

Thank you! It has been 4 days since the shot  (I got it on Monday morning) and I have the worst breast pain ever!

They usually give you HCG shot about 24-36 hours before insemination. It is to time the egg reliese.  It can cause some pregnancy symptoms, since it is the same hormone as pregnancy. So you will needd to wait about 10 days to test. If you test early you can get false positive.

Good luck. Hope you get your BFP this cycle. SSBD
