How many weeks were u when u stopped progesterone supplements?

Hi ladies and congrats to all of those with a BFP. I am just curious when most of u were allowed to discontinue your progesterone supplements?

Thanks for all the input ladies. What is odd and although I know ever pregnancy is different but with my daughter at 13dpo my prog level was 34 and yet with this preg at 14dpo the day I tested positive it was only 11.1

Grateful to now be 10w3d with (knock on wood) no problems. :)

No it does not srop producing it! You body just does not produce enough is why they put you on it. Your body does the same on it! They can take some woman off it by 12 weeks but that is touchy for some woman.

I just started mine too Miranda! Different things can effect your hormone levels each month so it can be different each month.

Hey waht day is AF due for you? I am usually every 25 days but last month I was 31 days so I am not sure for me. I used to be like clock work but been a little different since the TR.

This is an interesting thread for me because I've just been prescribed Prometrium last week.  Dr. doesn't even know if I'm pregnant yet....I'll find out in a week.

My progesterone tested normal on D21 back in March but I'm taking the pills anyways just to be on the safe side.  

Now I'm wondering...if you are taking progesterone, does that mean your own body is stopping producing it?

I was 11 weeks along when the doctor had me stop taking the progesterone shots and the estrace

I was told that never to come off before 12 weeks and even tey check you and your levels are good on them that is not always how they wil be off them. Low progesterone can casue preterm labor! I had my kids at 3 1/2 , 5 , 9 1/2 weeks early and the last one at 23 weeks gestation. If you have any spotting or ANY cramps after you stop then you need to go back on them. Aways aske for another month if they quit you at 12 weeks then if you ahve any problems you have some on hand till you see the dr. If the bleeding stops when you take them or the cramps you know you need them. The placenta has nothing to do with your body wanting to rejsect the pregnancy and casue you to go intolabor at any point. Be aware of any signs and please watch yourselves and your babies!!!! I would never want anyone to go through what I went through! Emma did not live long and died in my arms 3 hours after she was born. Please ladies be agressive with testing it and watching the signs.

I have enough prometrium to take me to 12 weeks so I am pretty comfortable discontinuing at that time.

Thx!!!  My progesterone is pretty-high, this time.  

I just hope my HCG doesn't drop like last time.  Even when it did drop, last time, the u/s lOOked like it showed a yolk-sac w/baby inside @5 mos., but it wasn't a baby b'c beta proved it to be wrong, again.

I was told to stop at 11 weeks...although I cheated a little bit and gradually came off the meds over a period of three/four days. So in reality, I guess it was more like 11 1/2 weeks.

Oh u poor thing. I am so happy I get to take the pill form.  I have an appt and U/S Thurs. I will ask him then when I can discontinue. I am of course afraid to be off of them but then again I am sure things are just fine now since the placenta is taking over.

I was not on them prior to pregnancy was put on it at 5 weeks for a progesterone level of 11.1.   I am now 10w2d and am thinking that he would start taking me off of them. I am on 400mg prometrium nightly.

Hi :o)  I have to take them until 10 weeks into pregnancy!!! I am doing the shots so that seems like FOREVER being that I'm gonna only be 5 weeks tmw.

I'm being weened off of them right now.  I got my BFP on 07/09.  I have an u/s on 07/23.  I just started spotting pinkish just 15 mins ago.  I don't know what is going on, yet.  I'm praying it's not another CP.
