Hystogram

Here is a little history first:
In 2004 I saw my OB/GYN and a Fertility Specilist to try and concive. My OB put me on Clomid for 3 months then refered to my fertlity specilist. The Fertlity specilist just wanted to put me on "Genol-F" (I had low FSH test reslts.) I'm just the type of person that wants to know WHY something is wrong and treate what's wrong instead of guessing and putting me on very powerful fertility drugs. Any way, after being on Clomid in "2004" for 3 months, my husband and I decided to quite infertlity teatment until after Christams and save some money for the "Genol-F" Well in Dec. of 2004, I conceved, and in Sept, 2005 I gave birth to my beautilful baby boy. Now.....three years later, I still have not conceived another child. We have been trying since July 2007....15 monnths. Today (dec. 11, 2008) I had a Hystogram and with my OBGYN and she discovered that my follopian tubes were blocked. She was able to unblock my left tube, but my right is still blocked. Does anyone know what the chances are of concevining with just ONE working follopian tube? How long should this take? What are my other options?

PLEASE HELP any info will be greatly appreceated!!

Crystal

That is what my doc said caused me to get preggers. Said any little road blocks were cleared out and he firmly believed that is what got me pregnant.

Thanks for the post. Yes it helps to hear positive news. I kept putting of going to my OBGYN because I remember how stressed I was when I was TTC my first child. I just didn't want to go thru that again. I guess I was hoping that since I have had one child, I knew I could conceive,  then I would have another with no problem. Now it's like the past 15 months of TTC was wasted time, I never would have concived.

Good Luck and God Bless to you also!

Hey! i was actually reading up on the same thing for a friend not too long ago on helium.com and it said quote:

There is no doubt that the odds on conceiving immediately with just one tube in place, IS reduced a little, but in fact, if you are pretty healthy, and your tube is unblemished and free from scarring and disease, the odds on falling pregnant at the normal rate after a salpingectomy, is actually 70% to 85%

One way you will be able to tell if you can conceive or not is by keeping an eye on your menstrual cycle. If your menstruation still carries on normally each month, then there is a good chance that everything else is working O.K.-Helium.com

Hope this helped!!
Good Luck and God Bless!
