Clomid

My husband and I are trying for a second child now that our son is 2.  I've always had problems with my periods since I was little.  Never a regular cycle that varies from 30-40 days and before pregnancy I would sometimes miss months.  We tried with our son for 8 months naturaly without any medicine and I think we just got lucky.  I have no way to pin point the ovulation days since I dont have a regular cycle.  Would it make sense to take clomid now or still wait a few months in trying.  We've been trying for 4 months and it seems like Im getting no where and its like a hit n miss with the ovulation days.  I also know that clomid increases risks in twins.  We have several sets of twins in both families including my Mom is a twin.  Does that highly increase our chances of having twins.  I will accept any child or children just curious on what I can be prepared for if my risks are high.

thank you

I have the same exact problem... i've never been regular, often missing months in between periods.  we are trying for our first child. i've been off the pill since august now and i know what you mean... hit or miss with ovulation. the last normal period i got was in october than nothing until january when the doc put me on provera. I actually went to go see a fertility specialist last week and i started my first dose of provera today. i have to go back on day 3 of my cycle to so that we could start clomid. i really hope it works. everyone around me is getting pregnant and i'm getting alittle down on myself. a friend of mine asked me if i thought i was rushing it going on clomid and all, my take is why wait if it's something i want. since ur like me, u know what i mean when i say it's like shooting into thin air....twins also run in my family and everyone always says i'm the one who is going to have them... so be it..i say go for it. u got nothing to lose and a bundle (or two) of joy to gain....
