Well, I had my HSG this morning. It was quite painful and it took a couple of attempts to get the catheter in place, but I must admit it wasn't as bad as a lot of the horror stories I had read about online!
And best of all, my tubes were all clear! However, I feel really silly now, as I cried when it was over with! I think it was a mixture of discomfort, anxiety and relief that it was over and that my results were good. I think I had just got myself so worked up about it that I got really emotional... my Gynae is going to think I'm a total wimp now lol!
Aw that's lovely news Ginger, congratulations to you both!
My Gynaecologist is going to be doing the test herself with the radiologist, and she seems very nice - we've only met her once so far - so hopefully she will be nice and patient! I'm trying so hard to remain calm, as I know that it will make things easier...
I've heard of ladies complaining about the bag. Personally it was uncomfortable like period cramps. You could take Motrin before the test. This is an essential test ttc. I'm sure you will be more nervous than anything since you expressed your concerns about that. The radiologist will have nurses or techs in the room which you can share your concerns with. Your gonnabe fine!! Hope your HSG comes back perfect!
Let us know how you did. My dh and I have been thru 10yrs of ttc and are finally expecting in March. If I can help you in any way please message me.

Hi Sally,
Thanks! I guess if you don't have any major recollection of it, it couldn't have been too traumatic!
I'm such a worrier - I've been worrying about it since I got my appointment. I will be glad tomorrow when it's over with and I know one way or another if anything is wrong.
Hi,
It's not that bad. A bit of cramping maybe, like when you have your period. YOu can take paracetamol before the procedure, which can help.
I had it done about 3 years ago and really I don't have any major recollection of it being terribly uncomfortable.
Mind you, the whole fertility testing and treatment stuff is all a bit invasive, and personal. But the outcome - a healthy baby - can make it all worthwhile.
You'll be fine.
