My board certified fertility specialist advised me to definitely stay lying down and prop your bottom. For some, it "gets where it's going" right away, but not for all. Especially those who have smaller amounts of CM, or those who have a tilted uterus and/or cervix, have scar tissue from previous cervical surgeries, etc. So with that being said, I would keep using the "prop your bottom up" method and I wish you the best of luck!

I heard about that, I'm ttc , I'm currently on my cycle ,just started taking prenatal vitamins along with my geritol..... I mean I'm crushed that it didn't conceive already, I have 3 children and we want one more before I turn 35. So my clock is ticking lol,but when we ready to try oh believe I will have 3 pillows propped under me so nothing doesn't come out :).

This is normal and happens to everyone - it's gravity. Semen gets to where it needs to when a man ejaculates and the rest is just expelled from the body afterwards. Some say that you should stay lying down after or have your hips elevated for a certain amount of time - but this is a myth. There is no need to do it - those sperms get to where they need to in the first place.

Stay lying down for a while, my gyno told me at least 20 minutes but the longer you can lie there, the better. You can put a pillow or two under your butt to elevate it so that gravity can help hold the semen inside.
