IVF w/ known egg donor cost

Hello all, I'm new here with a question.....

I'm 35 and dh is 37, we have a 14 month old baby girl.  While I was 21 weeks preggers, I had to have my remaining ovary removed due to a solid mass.  Anyway, that makes my story short.  I have an appointment in March for the infertility doctor to discuss IVF with a known donor.  My cousin who is 33 wants to donate her eggs to me and my hubby.  What I was wondering, does anyone, or can anyone, give me a ball park on what it costs to do IVF with a known donor in the area of Pittsburgh, PA?  I'm almost positive that my insurance doesn't cover IVF and funds are pretty low for us now, with the economy the way it is, so, I'm seeking any information on cost and the loans that are out here for IVF (how hard are they to get, etc.)

Well, thanks for any and all help and have a great day.

Hi!

I am in Pittsburgh.  You should check with RHS in Penn Hills.  I know that they do egg donor IVF, there is also a place in Maryland which a friend of mine used.  They have a "guaranteed program."  I think the cost runs from $25 - 30,000 - they do provide financing.

I wish you an amazing amount of success!

I recently completed a donor egg cycle and am 12 weeks.  My insurance covered the ivf procedure, b/w, scans etc.  We paid for the agency and attorney fees, hospital coordination fee, insurance, donor fee, genetic screening and meds.  Our cost was about $25k.  We borrowed some from 401k and somehow scraped up the rest.  It was a huge risk but was worth every penny.

Hope this helps.

Good luck

Hello -
I live in Cleveland, and am going through a similar situation as yourself.
We have tried IVF 2 times, both unsuccessful.  I'm 41, and My doctor thinks it did not work mostly due to my age, and the quantity/quality of my eggs.
We were headed in the direction of donor eggs.  But, the cost for us was way too  much.
There was a cost to the clinic, $6000,  a cost to the donor for compensation, $5000, and the cost of IVF plus the meds, $12,500 , plus meds -  So..approximately $25,000.  For us, way too much, and only a 60% chance of success.
We are now considering adoption. At least I'll know at the end I will have a baby.
I know how frustrating this is...It really *****! My heart goes out to you.
