Infertility drugs

I was recently pregnant through IVF. The baby split at a late stage into twins. Two weeks after the split, we were told the babies seemed to be joined at the chest. Their hearts eventually stopped beating and I had to have a D&C. I read, later on, that the vivelle patch or the estrodial pills I was taking may have caused the late split. Does anyone know this to be true?

Thank you both for your well wishes. After the loss of the twins I went looked up so much on the internet trying to find a reason as to why they split so late. I believe after so long, I came across the information regarding the medication. I am now using my last two embryos and hope it doesn't happen again. I know my doctor would not have me take anything harmful but I was curious as to what you all thought. Thank you for the responses. I am going to keep taking the pills and patch as instructed and cross my fingers.

I'm so sorry for what you've had to go through but I seriously doubt that the amount that we're on would cause this or they wouldn't put all us with medicated FET's on it for so long .. well, you'd hope not!!  If I have to go through another FET then I will jump up and down to do a natural cycle and not mess with our body's chemistry

I hope you heal quickly!
