Trigger for IVF, ugh...

So I got my call and I'm supposed to trigger tonight for my egg retrieval. I've been handling all my subcut. injections just fine but this one is intramuscular, so my husband has to do it. He is really chickening out on this one :) I called a nurse from the clinic that does at home injections as a side business, but she's down with a stomach flu, so my husband really has to do it :( He's really anxious and worried he'll do something wrong and mess it all up, poor guy! How did you hubbies do, ladies?

Thanks for all your responses, ladies! My husband did do the shot yesterday, and, of course, it wasn't as bad as I expected AT ALL! It took 15 min. because I would move away every time he tried to do it ;) I had to call the nurse on call at the clinic, though, because my husband's instructions seemed off to me (he was the one to get the call with instructions earlier in the day). They told him to only use half of the trigger, which seemed wrong, but turned out it was right! They told me that my estrogen was so high that they were afraid I was going to get hyperstimulated... But it all went well and tomorrow I'm going in for my Egg Retrieval! Anxious, but also excited! :)

I did my own...in my stomach. Not sure what trigger you are using but i am sure it should be the same hormones...my husband always offered but i needed to be in control..

BTW, you can't really mess up if you do it in your tummy, close to your belly bottom.... don't worry!! The hgh will get in your system no matter what. Who scared you that much?!!! That IS NOT FAIR!!!!

All my injections were intramuscular. I did them on my tummy. Don't do the leg, it really hurt. You will be OK! If you are doing Novarel, do it fast because it hurts if you do it slowly. You may get sore for few days but it goes away!! I'm happy for you that you are very close to retreival/transfer and then BABY!!!! Stay positive:)
