Can having the morning after pill stop you getting pregnant?

hiya everyone

my partner and i have been trying to get pregnant for six months now, and we have sex at the time when i ovulate and we havent got caught yet. Im 11 dpo at the minute and have been experiencing loads of pregnancy symptoms, the same as every month.

My question is, last year i had the morning after pill more then 6 times in one month and I am scared that these may have damaged my chance to get pregnant no, over 18 months later. Can anyone else reasure me or help.

Thanks

We were unsecessful this cycle again, the thing that is so upsetting is i get all the pregnancy symptoms the week before my period starts.

I know that worrying about getting pregnant hinders our chances but its very difficult not to conceive.

Hello,
Since you had the morning after pills 1 year back, it will not have any long term side effects and not hamper your chances of pregnancy. You can test 1 week- 10 days after you miss your periods or you can test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test.. Also I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests. The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy.

I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Also, it takes a healthy couple 6 months to a year to conceive. There is only a %25 chance each month to become pregnant.

Hey there,

I just read a bunch of stuff for you that indicated that plan B does NOT have any long term effects. So, the answer is no its not causing infertility.

If you want reassurance, call 1 800 330 1271. Its a phone number for Plan B if you want to ask questions

Good luck!
