problems conceiving child no 2

Hi, I am very nearly 30 and a mum to an adorable son (2 years in June).  I had a normal delivery, but had to be cut! Since the birth of my son, I have noticed I have a very slight prolapse! We have been trying to get pregnant for 4 months and I am getting very down.  My periods are all out and I used a first reponse ovulation test this month which worked very well.  Unfortunately I started my period today and am so worried that I will not ben able to have another child.  It happened the first month with my son and I am just so anxious and down.  I just feel nobody understands and think I am being silly, but I can't help the way I feel.  Please help x

Thank you for all your comments.  I always look on thr negative side! I had quite a rushed traumatic birth and have a slight prolapse and because of this worry I may not conceive? Does anybody else have a mild prolaspe and have you had problems?

Hi there,
I have a similar tale. I fell pregnant very quickly with my first child who is now 2. I have just discovered Im pregnant with my 2nd, but it has taken a year!! 4 months is nothing. They say it can take up to 12 months!

Good luck xxx

I fully agree with Kris. You are young so I too would give it 2 more months of using the OPK and see what happens. I wasn't so lucky with my 1st- took me 4 yrs to get him and now trying for number 2 a year (with a mc at 6 wks in the middle). I am pushing 33 now.

Hi there,
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I am in the same boat as you but older. I also have a son who will be 3 in August. I got pregnant easily with him. We have been trying for baby #2 for almost 2 years! (started when he turned 1)  I have gotten every test, surgery etc in the book and nothing seems to be wrong except that I am 38 so dr's are attributing it to that. I have had 2 IUI's and they did not work and i am currently gearing up for IVF. I have read that secondary infertility affects 1 in 5 couples.

However, if i were you, i would not worry yet (and worrying and stressing is not good for trying to get pregnant). You have only been trying for 4 months and you are young. Try another 2 months (with the ovulation kit) and if nothing, go to your OBGYN and get some preliminary testing done. Good luck!
