hydosalpinx
If only have 1 fallopian tube and it is a hydrosalpinx (large) will I have to have it removed? What will my chances of ever getting pregnant be? Will my only option be in vitro fertilization? What does a hdrosalpinx come from? My research shows that its an infection like chlamidia or ghonorea or something. I don't have any of these things. I have just had a pap and tons of blood work done that doesn't say I have any of these things???
Yes I do have endo. I have a laparoscopy scheduled in 2 weeks. My Dr. will decide if he needs to repair or remove the tube. I had a laparoscopy in 2001 and had my left tube removed due to the endo. So if he has to remove the right one then my only choice is in vitro. Thank you for all of the responses, it helps to not feel like the only one. I HAD HYDROSALPHIX IN BOTH TUBES I HAD SURGERY IN APRIL TO UNBLOCK THEM MY DR NEVER TOLD ME THAT LIQUID COULD LEAK AND BE TOXIC. BECAUSE NITHER OF MY TUBE WERE BLOCKED BAD HE SAID THAT I HAD A 85% CHANCE OF GETTING PREG. MY HYDROSALPHIX WAS DUE TO AFTER GETTING AN ABORTION 5 YEARS AGO THEY RIPED MY UTERUS AND IT CAUSED A INFECTION. BUT THE DR ALSO SAID THAT THERE IS A CHANCE THAT MY TUBES COULD BLOCK BACK UP.

I also had hydrosalphix in my Rtube which had to be removed which was due to a silent case of chlamydia as a teenager. It became PID and scarred my Rtube which had lots of potent fluid. The DR told me that the fluids where toxic and stopped me from having a baby which involved my miscarriage. I had to have a myomectomy and a D&C to get rid of Rtube, fibroid, and flush the Ltube out so I could start TTC. Hopes this helps!!!!!!!

Hi, i just recently had my left tube removed because of hydrosalphix. I have endometrosis which caused it. Do you have endo? Also ivf is an option but......the sucess rate is lower because of the hydrosalphix, My dr strongly advised having it removed because it leaks toxic fluids that often prevent pregnancy or if you do get pregnant it can stop the baby growing. If i was you i would go over the options with your dr. Good luck
