New post: Audrie,tbeards,sarbear11 & anyone else

Hi everyone,
First of all a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Trudi, that is amazing.  I knew it with those levels.  I am so happy for you and your husband.  You did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been laying in bed all day except I walked downstairs to thank my neighbor for bringing dinner overand then just to the bathroom.  I will be in bed tomorrow also and won't return to work until Monday and it is all desk stuff so nothing strenuous.  Ascott was aking about having to lay on the table after transfer for 1-2 hours but my place only has you do that for 5 minutes and then you can pee and go home.  The Embryologist said that once they are in they are in.  I don't know if it is the same everywhere.  I am sure everyone has there own protocal.

I go in for my blood test on the 22nd.  So I will be praying until then.  Everyine keep me in your prayers.

Hugs,
Aleks

It is very surreal to actually find out there are two little ones in there. I am excited and anxious. Now I want to know if they are boys, girls or one of each!...After my transfer, I could go to the bathroom after 10 minutes and then they wanted me to lay down for about a half an hour but mainly to allow for the Valium to wear off a little. My RE said the same thing that the embies aren't going anywhere. I think very strenous activity could change that but for the most part, my RE recommends the bed rest so there is no stress, limited activity and to just rest up. I am so excited for your beta on 8/22! I will definitely be praying for you!!!

Audrie - The way our bodies have handled everything is so similar! Food is now disgusting to me but for the two weeks before I could eat anything and the nausea would subside for a little while, BBs are really full and this is the first time I have had back pain. I also feel really pukey all the time and food doesn't help like it did the first week. I don't actually vomit, just always feel like I have to. I didn't have the back pain with my first pregnancy. I don't have any cramping, just little twinges now and then like stretching, which I guess is the uterus expanding. I am so happy for you! I am sure your test on Friday will be just fine. I actually like the symptoms since you know everything is progressing as is.

hopefultobeblessed - I completely understand how you are feeling right now. I can barely make it through the days at work. By 3:00 I am ready to head home and go to bed. Have you had an u/s yet?

Talk soon ladies and SSBD!

I feel the same as you do.  I havent vomitted either, just feel like Im going to if I smell anything.  I have those little twinges, and little cramps quite often.  I'm sure tommarrows beta will go good.  I was a few days early on my retrievel, and who knows about the hcg levels, everyone is different.  I am home now, and I have had my beta tests at a small little town lab, and they might not have all of the technology the ivf labs do.  The main thing is it doubled.  My progesterone levels got sent off to another big lab, because the one here couldnt even check for it.  And those levels were 43 which is really high.  They like to see progesterone levels anything over 20, so that is good.  When do you go in for another ultrasound.  I am so excited for you.  I am a twin myself and twins are just so fun.
Lexi_ I will be praying and thinking about you.  Its going to work out I just know it will.
Sarbear- Keep up the good work, they are going to get some really good eggs from you, do you have a retreivel date yet?
Hopefulltobeblessed_  When is your ultrasound?  I cant wait.  This site is so fun to see all of our progress.  And so much support to.

Your a twin??? So am I!!! So funny...I have a fraternal twin sister...Are you identical or fraternal twins? I won't have another u/s until they do a level 2, which is around week 20. So a 13 week wait for the gender is going to be tough. I feel like I need to already start preparing : )  Are you having any cravings yet? The only thing that sounds good to me lately is Mexican food, which is weird considering most food is absolutely disgusting to me now. I think it is the starchy refried beans and tortilla chips that are appetizing. Weird.

Talk soon,

Trudi

I am so glad that you guys found the new post it is allot easier.  I am just laying in bed and trying not to stress.  My mom is here today takeing care of my daughter and even so Rachel (my daughter) climbs on the bed and does not understand why I am in bed.  I am overthinking everything.  Have I been laying down enough?  Am I going to the bathroom to often?  It has to work we had 2 transferred.  Ok, I am normally not like this, what is wrong with me?  Well I am going to try and take a nap.

I am glad you guys are doing good other then the food aversion.  I am sure that will pass.

Hugs to you,
Aleks

Hi!

Audrie- I don't have a retrievel date yet. When I went in on Monday for my u/s the nurse said maybe around the 19th or 20th. But I don't know if they will move that up because of my estrogen levels or because some of the follicles are bigger already. I have another u/s tomorrow morning, so I guess I will know more then. I am just really hoping the estrogen levels calm down a bit.  Hopefully... since they reduced my follistim dosage even more. (Down to 75). It's kind of hard because I'm such a planner, and I just want to know what is happening next week and when. I am a volleyball coach (and teacher), so I want to be able to tell my players when we will and won't have practice next week, but I can't because I dont' know!
It's at least nice that school hasn't strated yet, so i want to get all this over with before that happens. Right now I can just go to appts whenever. And I won't have to take days off for bedrest....besides for vb practice. but that's no bid deal.
Anyway.....
Lexie- Glad to hear you are still hanging in there. Hopefully your hubby is taking good care of you...which I'm sure he is!

I have a fraternal twin brother.  All except for my brother and me, there are 5 generations in a row on my mothers and dads side with idenical twins.  So I dont know I guess in a few weeks we will know if its one or two.  My favorite food is mexican food, and that is weird because thats all I have been eating.  The worst food for me right now is the smell and the looks of bacon.  I cant even be in the kitchen when my husbands is making breakfast, but pankakes and eggs are good.  I will post on my hcg levels tommarrow.  How many hcg tests did you do.  I am scheduled for one tommarrow and one on Monday.

You are going to do great.  The same things went through my head when I was on bed rest.  I had to pee every hour and I thought what if Im getting up to much or moving to much.  The doctor assured me that getting up going to the bathroom, a bowell movent , ect. wouldnt scquish them little embryos out.  Did the doctor tell you not to put your laptop on you?  They told me not to because of the extra heat.  So I just had mine lifted up on a pillow for bed rest.  Just relax and enjoy the rest.

Hi ladies! I went for my 1st ultrasound today and guess what!?! They saw two gestational sacs! I am so excited. They told me that sometimes the 2nd sac can disappear at the next ultrasound. Since I am going away next week, my next appointment will be on 8/26. I'll be about 8 weeks. They hope to hear the heartbeat by then. I hope they both stick! I would love to have twins.

Lexi: Glad you are resting well. When is you test? Great idea on the new post. This on loads a lot faster.

tbeards: How far along are you? And do you know why they wait so long to do the next ultrasound?

Hi Audrie! Well, the insomnia finally kicked in for me. I have been up since 3:00 a.m. Are you having any sleepless nights yet? I am sure it doesn't affect everyone but with my first baby, I was up at 5:00 a.m. or earlier every morning during my first trimester...I had two beta tests. My RE normally does three every two days but they don't do them on the weekends so I had my first beta on a Friday and since they weren't open on Sunday, I had my second on Monday. Since my levels were high and doubled, there was no need for a third...I completely understand the disgusting breakfast smells! My dh loves those frozen breakfast sandwiches with sausage, cheese and egg on an English muffin and they just smell entirely rotten to me : ) It must be our bodies way of telling us we don't need certain foods or something....

Talk soon,

Trudi

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I was wondering if you were having twins. Your HCG numbers looked higher as well...My RE performs the u/s during the 6th to 8th week to check for both the number of embryos and to check for a heartbeat(s). Once that u/s confirms the pregnancy(ies), there isn't anything more the RE can do for you at that point so the ob/gyn takes over. The only other time you get an u/s with your ob/gyn is for the level 2 u/s at 20 weeks unless you do any fetal testing, which may include the skin fold test to check for downs syndrome (at 11-13 weeks I think), amniocentesis (week 16) or to see how far along you are, which we already know that by the minute : )

I was wondering why your RE did you u/s so early and not wait a week or two to see the heartbeat(s)? Did you see the heartbeats during your u/s along with the gestational sacs? From what I recall, I think the heart starts beating around day 28 (4 weeks) but is too small/faint to see on u/s until week 6.

Hi Aleks! I hope you are doing well. Don't worry, I think all of us think we are doing something wrong during the bed rest. I thought the same thing: am I getting up too much to go to the bathroom, should I lay down more than I am, am I overdoing it by walking up and down the stairs in the morning (we have a two story house). I am sure it is all fine. I put my laptop on top of a pillow on my lap so the heat didn't touch my skin. I am so paranoid about the heat factor! Even when I was trying to get pregnant naturally, I wouldn't work out on certain days because I thought I would overheat myself and affect any potential pregnancy : ) Are you on progesterone shots right now? I finally get to stop mine probably next week and I have stopped the patches this week since I don't need them anymore. I guess with twins, you don't need as much synthetic progesterone and estrogen. I have my first appointment with my ob/gyn clinic today, which is really just bloodwork and I guess a weight check. It is weird because it isn't like we all haven't had enough bloodwork already!!! I think it is a liability thing for the clinics and they want their own results. Strange.

Take it easy this weekend. I am so excited for your beta on 8/22!!!

Hi Trudi,

I am going nuts.  I am over thinking everything.  I think I need to stop overthinking everything because that is not good for me.  See what I am doing.    I have mainly been on bed rest since Wednesday and when I use my laptop in bed I lay on my side (hopefully that is ok).  The doctor and Embryologist both said that it is perfectly fine.  Then I tell myself it has to work, I have a daughter naturally but unfortunately it is not in our hands.  So all I can do is pray and bank of the words of the Dr. and Embryologist that the embryos and transfer could not have been better.  I am not going to POAS (I will try not to), I am taking your advice.  You guys are wonderful and have been a great support.  I am on Progesterone shots nightly.  I get a little nauseous here and there so I think it is from that.  I want to take my daughter to the pool tomorrow (not swim) just sit on a lounge chair, what do you think?

Talk to you soon,
Aleks

hey all-- I had another u/s this morning. Everything is looking really good. The nurse said that since they don't do u/s on sundays that the dr. would want to see me tomorrow for another u/s.  THe follicles are growing really well. I had quite a few good sized ones including some that were 18.5, 18, 17,16.5, and 16.  So that is good. Haven't heard yet about my estrogen levels or if they are going to reduce my dosage again or not.
But will let you all know what I hear and how the u/s goes tomorrow.

The nurse did say that I may be able to trigger as early as tomorrow night or sunday night....so it is definitely getting close!!!!!!!!!!!!! whoooo hooooooo!

It is so hard to try not to overthink things but we all have invested (financial but more so emotionally) so much into the process it is hard not to overthink if you are doing anything wrong. If anything, it sounds like you are being extra cautious! I think it is just fine to go to the pool but make sure you don't fall on any slippery items or spots and don't pick up anything too heavy.

Have a great weekend! I am sure I will be back online tonight or tomorrow : )
